Our Story

Sydney Bell, MSW is a body image therapist, educator and body positivity advocate. Sydney’s advocacy and and community engagement work is grounded in the Health at Every Size (HAES) ® approach to weight and health. She believes that by providing spaces to challenge oppressive beauty and health paradigms and instead promote body diversity and radical self love we can turn the tide against rampant body dissatisfaction and the negative health outcomes that go with it. Contributing to the exciting emergence of women and men reclaiming their body sovereignty is Sydney's passion. She has developed the Body Sovereignty framework for healing that embraces self compassion, mindfulness, and discernment to foster unconditional positive regard for the self and the body. Embracing Body Sovereignty offers freedom from feelings of body shame and focuses efforts on a sustainable energy for better health and wellbeing at any size. Sydney currently resides in Kitchener, Ontario with her partner Jon, two dogs and a cat. You can find resources and learn more about her work at: www.sydneybell.ca
