We are sorry to announce that the Mirror Image Room has closed. Wigs, hats, head coverings (caps, toques, decorative scarves) will now be provided by the Penticton Regional Hospital new Oncology Unit.
To access the Wig service please call 778-622-1839 and leave a message OR drop in to Oncology between 8:30AM to 3PM and a volunteer will help you.
The MIR volunteers chose to donate the stock of wigs and other head coverings to the PRH Oncology Unit. In addition we gave the remaining cash donations received from grateful clients to two outstanding women's charities in the south Okanagan;
Tomorrow's Hope and SOWINS, two charities focused on women's health and welfare.
Tomorrow’s Hope (a registered charity) is a volunteer driven peer support program for people diagnosed with Breast Cancer in the South Okanagan.
Our goal is to provide a confidential support system, both emotional and informational to anyone diagnosed with Breast Cancer. You can learn more about them on their page They received a donation from the MIR to continue their service to the people of our community.
South Okanagan Women in Need SOWINS (a registered charity). SOWINS supports individuals wherever they are in their journey of living a life free of abuse and violence.
We provide shelter, safety, and support by helping individuals recognize, understand, and overcome the impacts of abuse and violence.
Our work is essential and inspires change at individual and societal levels.
Together, we can change lives.
Critter Aid in Summerland also received a donation of wigs (just in time for Hallowe'en) and miscellaneous items.
