On Saturday March 21st, visual artist Kamila Ogonowski will have 6 pieces on display at White Lioness located at 419 Main Street. She'll also be on-site for the day in an open studio setting, and she welcomes visitors to drop by and say hello.

Meet Kamila:
I’m a visual artist based in Penticton BC, with a primary focus on acrylic, oil painting, and mixed media. I’ve been fascinated by art for as long as I can recall. Whether I’m creating it, or taking it in, it’s an experience that deeply enriches my life. My mother, an artist and educator, inspired me from a young age to explore a variety of
mediums, including pen and ink, watercolour and gouache painting, oil and chalk pastels, and printmaking.
Originally from Poland, and after having spent some time in Germany, Ive called Canada home for over 3 decades. I earned my Fine Arts degree at OUC, and after taking time to focus on family and working in the helping field, I am back at my easel with a renewed perspective.
My current work occupies the space of abstract realism, and I enjoy exploring the gap between tangible observation and expressive abstraction. My process is a dance between intuition and intent. Beginning with a raw, textured layer of acrylics or mixed media, I gradually introduce other elements, including the human form,
surrounding landscape, and animals. By preserving the "deliberate mess" of the background, I invite a sense of atmospheric depth into each piece. My paintings may serve as a contemplative pause, a glimpse into a moment captured, or a visual invitation to find a personal narrative within the imagery.
