Today I want to share what made me want to do massage for my career.
I was very lost when I was in my early 20’s and honestly had a bad falling out with another career path that I imagined it to be my whole life career. I felt dejected, upset, disappointed, and honestly so confused. Where was I even going?… Who did I want to be? And how did I want to show up in my career?
I saw an advertisement post for Raynor Massage course and thought, what the heck, I should give it a try. I might just walk away with being massaged on and that’s it.
But I wasn’t expecting, for all of what happened… It turned into the most life changing experience for me. Something unlocked when I was there. I was having an emotional release, every, single, day. To me, I didn’t understand why, or how someone could release so much feelings and heavy emotions through the power of touch.
I also remember my dad was very upset with me I spent a big investment for the two weeks I was attending. 😂
Perhaps it sounds a bit woo woo, but after having this huge pivotal point with massage. When I got back home, I told my parents I wanted to do this for my career, and I wanted to do this from the house. My mom told me I was glowing, and I looked different. Both of them were supportive of me, so we changed the bedroom into the massage room.
I felt the intense need, a spark was lit, to help others the way I was once helped. I wanted to show others how important massage was. How crucial and healing the modality is. How much it really changed my life and how much it could help others. Of course, physical benefits are amazing. Let’s not deny that, but there is something impactful when the massage uplifts you mentally & spiritually, really just overall being.
We’ve all gone through some stressful times in our life. Losing a loved one, being the caretaker 24/7, a divorce, over working, mental health & physical health issues. I adapted and customized The Lapis Touch massage I offer today, to help clients drop deeply within themselves & to have that inner peace; being present in their own body. This is why I chose to do massage as my career path. So many of you have already shared with me how massage has helped you to rest, release, or feel lighter, and it’s exactly why I’m so grateful for every single client who chooses to come see me.
