Helping you heal, grow & find balance

My name is Jaclyn, and I have been a Registered Clinical Counsellor in British Columbia, Canada for the past 5 years. I received my Masters of Counselling Psychology (MCP) from Adler University in 2019, and have been practicing with a wide range of clients and diverse issues ever since. Through my time as a counsellor, I have become passionate about working with women who experience a wide range of difficulties, including but not limited to: stress, anxiety, difficult life transitions, relationship issues, and trauma. Together, we can work on developing new skills and strategies, while addressing the root causes of your symptoms.

Not every thought is true… especially the negative ones. Ever find yourself jumping to the worst-case scenario or assuming what others think?

That might be a cognitive distortion: a sneaky thinking trap that twists how you see yourself, others, or the world.

In Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), you learn to spot these patterns, like all-or-nothing thinking, catastrophizing, or mind reading, and gently challenge them. This process is called cognitive restructuring.

Ask yourself:
👉 Is this thought based on facts or fear?
👉 What’s another way to look at this situation?
👉 What would I say to a friend thinking this?

It’s not about being blindly positive - it’s about thinking more clearly, kindly, and realistically. Remember: you don’t have to believe every thought you think ✨

Ever catch your mind saying something like “I’m not good enough” without even thinking? 🧠

That’s an automatic thought: a quick, reflexive belief that pops up in response to a situation.

In Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), we learn to notice, question, and reframe these thoughts so they don’t control how we feel or act.

Remember: Your thoughts are powerful, but they’re not always facts. With awareness, you can change your inner dialogue and change your life. If you’re interested in starting your therapy journey, send me a message to set up your free consultation.

What is CBT? 🧠💬

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a structured, evidence-based approach that helps you understand how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are connected.

By identifying unhelpful thinking patterns and learning new coping strategies, CBT empowers you to shift your mindset and make lasting changes. It’s also one of the most effective treatments for anxiety, depression, and many other mental health concerns.

If you are interested in seeing how CBT can level up your life, send me a message to set up a free consultation! Or, follow along for more info on CBT to come!

Feeling overwhelmed? Try grounding. 🌿

Grounding is a therapeutic technique that helps you manage distress by reconnecting you to the present moment. It's especially useful for anxiety, trauma, and dissociation.

Grounding reconnects your mind and body through simple sensory or mental exercises. By focusing on physical sensations, like your breath, the feel of your feet on the floor, or the objects around you, you can calm your nervous system and feel more in control.
