Our story

We are a mobile massage service, travelling through the Okanagan spreading relaxation and wellness Call/text/email: 250-486-2620 happydendrite@gmail.com

When I was 6, a close friend got chickenpox. I was so worried about her, I sat outside in her yard, talking to her through her window every day for a week. I would make sure she knew who had won the latest round of tag, who the resident bully had picked on that afternoon, and play Barbie’s, with the screen between us.

Through high school and my early twenties, I channeled my sense of compassion and empathy into schooling for a career in Social Work. I became politically active. I was going to change the world! Or so I wanted to believe. But as Robert Burns wrote “the best laid schemes o’ mice an’ men...” One bad car accident, and a horrible break-up later, suddenly school was something of the past. I eventually found myself at Get Bent Studio, affecting change and helping people in a way I never thought I would. Through dance! Sure it was a smaller audience, but it was no less impactful, both for my students and for me.

Fast forward several years and I’m now a mom, trying to make the best for me and my daughter. One day, inspiration struck, in the way it does, with a suddenly burgeoning light, and opening awareness that I want MORE! I wanted to continue helping people, but in a full-time capacity. I wanted to spread the word of good health and improved life. Taking a note from the impact the Chair Yoga class offered by Get Bent has on its participants, I realized I wanted to add another layer. To offer more to those who found themselves in a yoga class looking to improve mobility, recover from joint replacements, or maintain ability to function as they aged. That lead me to Massage Therapy, and rejoining the academic world. This world has opened my eyes to the limitless ability to offer help, healing, and health to EVERYONE who seeks it.
