With winter storms on the horizon, it's a good idea to talk about Snow Safety! ❄️
Shovelling snow can bring on low back, shoulder and neck pain. While you may not enjoy shovelling snow, it's important to clear snow for safety purposes. Before you shovel, read the following steps that will help you reduce your risk of injury:
- Take five minutes to stretch beforehand to loosen and warm up your muscles and get your blood flowing, as cold or tight muscles are more prone to injury; don't forget to stretch your hamstrings, as tight hamstrings put extra stress on your lower back.
- To protect your back, use a lighter, plastic shovel with an ergonomically curved handle so you're not bending as much.
- Bend at your knees and lift with your legs.
- Turn your whole body, and keep your load light.
- Pace yourself and break the job up into parts if you can
- If you are tossing the snow, start with small tosses and get your shoulders warm.
- Keep the amount of snow reasonable especially if this is one of your first times out this season.

Another great reason to choose us! 😋

Some of you saw this in our stories yesterday. Some have heard me talk about it, and it’s finally (sorta) here!
PicnicRx at the Gorgeous new Tay River Health Centre is now open (Rx… health centre… see what we did there?). It’s a few months delayed and opening a new part of a business at the height of Holiday season wasn’t the plan, but we’ve all learned a good lesson about plans these last few months!
While it’s still a bit of a soft launch, and still has a few more touches to go, you can now grab a coffee or tea or a baked good or even something for lunch while waiting for an appointment with your doctor, after a massage with , while waiting for a prescription from the amazing team , before or after physio with

The gorgeous spot is also open to those without appointments. You can expect to find the same great service, coffee and food now at both locations.

Hours right now are sort of 9 ish until 3 ish… we will nail that down a bit in the new year.

May is National Physiotherapy Month!

This month we will be discussing the importance of physiotherapy in the lives of our clients, the way physiotherapy has positively impacted our clients during the pandemic, and the basic ins and outs of physiotherapy as a treatment method for various conditions.

So what exactly is physiotherapy? Physiotherapy is treatment to restore, maintain, and make the most of a patient’s mobility, function, and well-being. Physiotherapy helps through physical rehabilitation, injury prevention, and health and fitness. In order to provide our clients with the best, and most comfortable treatment process possible, our physiotherapists get you involved in your own recovery. Stay tuned this month for more information about physiotherapy and if it's the right choice for your treatment!
