Family Day weekend is on the horizon and we are so thrilled to be taking an extra day off to spend with the ones who matter most 🫶🏻

Kawartha Family Chiropractic will be closed Monday February 16th 2026!

Please add yourself to our waitlist or phone the office this week so we can expand our hours as needed! (especially Dr. Loucks and Dr. Edgar patients!) we are happy to accommodate knowing online availability is very booked up!!

Dr. Loucks, her husband Mitch and daughter Spencer will be at the clinic this weekend hard at work renovating Room 2 in the practice! One of our main adjusting suites! So excited to get back to improving the space after a year hiatus 😅 🤰 family and friends are welcome to pop by and help or have some Spencer time 🤣 ….. let’s see how this renovation goes with a little helper 🎨 🔨 🧰

See you all bright and early Monday morning!! ☀️

Celebrating 4 wild and unforgettable years with Christina at KFCC ✨

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, this woman shows the true meaning of dedication, leadership, hard work and we would all be lost without her! 😭🤍

Day in and day out she puts our patients first, helping every one of our doctors stay on this crazy train 🚂 and is the reason I was able to enjoy those precious early moments with my daughter at home this past fall 🍂(moments I’ll never get back!) and for that. Words can’t even express how thankful I am.

She has helped me grow this practice to what it is today and given me a stable place to land with each passing obstacle ❤️ her unwavering steadfast nature is rare to find in small businesses and we are so endlessly grateful to have her on our team 🙏🏻

Here is to celebrating YOU today ❤️🥰

Almost one month into 2026 being a working new mom and I’ve been so grateful for all of my teammates at work for supporting this transition back, my patients for welcoming me with open arms, and my husband for holding down the fort at home 🏠

So far doing part time hours 5 days a week has been the play ▶️ I feel worked but not completely burnt out, I’m giving myself grace on the hard nights and know that this sleep regression and phase is not forever, doing a little bit every day is not only good for my mental health and business but it also gives me that time out of the house and makes me appreciate the time in my home that much more. It’s weird. I love my job and my home better with these little breaks from each in my day. It doesn’t mean I love my business or my family any less. I just truly value them both and they both need a seat at the table in my life. I’m grateful to have a career where I can try and balance both.

Pumping and breastfeeding has been going well and we are finding our rhythm with that with me being out of the house more and needing a supply on hand for Mitch! I find pumping first thing in the morning and at night really helpful and also right before my afternoon shift! On average I’m going through about one freezer brick a week and I’m grateful 🥹 I worked hard to make that stash and I don’t want it all gone if this became unsustainable 🥛

Keeping my supply up and making sure I’m comfortable while adjusting and baby is fed has been my biggest stressor right now and not because it’s not going well but because it’s all new to me and new to Spencer and I really want to try my best to breastfeed as long as I can 🙏🏻

I’ve really enjoyed connecting with expecting moms in my practice, friends and other practitioners and chatting all things baby, motherhood and maternity leave. My DMs are always open for anyone needing to chat, connect or ask a question! I’m not perfect and I’m figuring this all out in real time but so grateful for everyone’s support in this transition back! 🌸🤍

2016 👩‍🎓 the year I graduated from my undergraduate degree in Human Kinetics at UWindsor, the year I moved away from my first home away from home and the girls I lived with for 4 years and the year I met ❤️ I spent most of the year travelling from Windsor ⏩️ Toronto ⏩️ and mixing in visits home to Peterborough 📍

The year of Kin Games in Montreal. (IYKYK) 💙💛🤪The year of crushing intramural volleyball 🏐 and the year I got accepted to CMCC and started my Chiropractic Journey in Toronto 📍

The year I travelled to Mexico with my bestfriend 🏝️ and met new friends throughout the year 🙌🏻

The year of over-filtered Instagram photos and square pictures only.

The year I still had my grandma who passed in 2020 💕

When I look bad on these photos 10 years ago. Many of these people stood in our wedding or attended. Most of these people are still in our lives. I now have a marriage, a home and a baby with that guy who asked me out on the train ride back from Montreal 🤯 these photos feel like yesterday and a lifetime ago all at once.

What a decade. What a year 2016 was. Sometimes I wish I could go back when the only problem I had was coordinating 25 hooligans on a trip to Montreal, or making sure I got to the forge for 8 PM volleyball or finishing Mod 1 and 2 at CMCC. These memories will always live rent free in my head even if some are a bit fuzzy. 😆

We’ve all seen our Spotify wrapped but what I look forward to most is our Jane wrapped 🎁 😅

345 NEW Chiropractic patients were welcomed into our clinic in 2025! ✨

An average of 6 New Patients a week!

That’s 345 people who trusted us to care for their bodies most precious cargo ~ their spine and central nervous system 🧠 💪🏼

345 People who knew that they were ready for a change.

That LIFE is expressed to the fullest potential when we function at our best!

345 people who took their health and wellness into their own hands and were ready to make a change.

This number is more than a KPI. It’s a reflection of the work our doctors continually invest into themselves and their practices. The work they do to create a positive ripple effect on our community and the positive reputation our clinic has established in Peterborough.

We have been fortunate enough to be voted Peterborough’s best chiropractic clinic 3 years in a row and we are so thankful for your continued trust and every single referral that comes through our doors ✨

If you are ready to make a change in your health by adding chiropractic care to your healthcare team in 2026. We would be honoured to be considered. ❤️

Dr. Loucks and Dr. Balmer are accepting new patients in 2026 and Dr. Edgar will be accepting new patients when she returns from maternity leave in the Spring of 2026 🌷!

Let’s make 2026 your healthiest year yet!

November is over which means our Fall Grow Co Intake is officially complete ✨

Being a new mom and being on the participant side of this course (while yes also still coaching!) was so eye opening in just how many musculoskeletal changes take place during pregnancy and post partum!

The biggest eye opener is HOW WEAK I felt during the beginning days of the course. I was wobbly, uncoordinated, tired and felt sore in some movements. Which makes sense… the final months of pregnancy are challenging to stay active although I did always try and walk and thankfully my job kept me moving right up to the due date basically.

That ~ paired with the first weeks (6+) post partum in which you are basically resting the entire time and sitting or laying down with small walks here and there while your body healed from birth.

My core and glutes felt the weakest for myself and it was hard to connect to them in the same way I did pre pregnancy. But practicing week after week I felt myself being able to integrate resistance, small weights and higher intensity work. Truly a labour of love to yourself where you aren’t “seeing” results right away but committing to the process which is crucial to heal and build back stronger!

After just 4 weeks I still have a long way to go to reach my goals but this program laid the foundations for healing, gave me guidance and accountability to myself, and allowed me the time and space to complete mindful movement geared to strengthen my whole body and for that I’m so thankful!

Here is to continuing to practice what GrowCo teaches while starting to ramp up intensity and continuing to build from this month’s progress! I’m not waiting to start in January to begin working towards my goals and I encourage you all to give yourself permission to *start in December*

Proud of all of the women who joined us this session! We had women 8 weeks PP, months PP, working moms with teenagers, seniors and more in this class and it was so great to see you all putting your health first!! 🙏🏻❤️

Thank you endlessly for supporting our clinic and supporting your health in 2025!

Dr. Loucks, Dr. Balmer, Dr. Edgar and Leanne all continue to grow and have thriving practices helping thousands of patients achieve their health and wellness goals while providing exceptional evidence based chiropractic and medical care to the Peterborough community.

Dr. Loucks & Dr. Edgar welcomed over 15 women into our Grow Co program in 2025 supporting them through postpartum rehabilitation, strengthening their core and pelvic floor, building their confidence in their bodies and improving their postural control! We had women as early as 6 weeks PP to women in their 70s join in on the program!

Dr. Loucks had quite the year personally and professionally. She was named Peterborough’s BEST Chiropractor and Kawartha Family Chiropractic Clinic was nominated BEST Clinic 3 year running by Peterborough Community Votes, nominated as a finalist in the Luminary awards for women in business for Entrepreneurial Spirit as well as nominated in the Health and Wellness Category for the Peterborough Business Excellence Awards all while being pregnant. She then welcomed her beautiful baby girl, Spencer in September 2025! We can all look forward to seeing Dr. Loucks full time again in 2026!

More babies are in our future at the clinic as we are thrilled to announce Dr. Edgar is expecting her second child in February 2026!!! Dr. Loucks can’t wait to return the favour and cover her practice in the new year to ensure no interruption in patient care! The Girl Gang is expanding!!! Congratulations Dr. Edgar!

Now is the time to book your adjustments for the remainder of 2025 ⏭️ Here is to 2026!

So much to celebrate in November at KFCC ✨ and while you don’t see this guy on the front lines as often he certainly helps with the backbone of the practice!

Happiest Birthday to Dr. Loucks’ husband Mitch! 🤍

He helps us run our payroll, does our bookkeeping, on-boards new staff members into our back end platforms, helps us with all our IT problems, does our hard drive backups, repairs and Reno’s just about everything 😅 oh and also has a full time job and referees Junior and University hockey “on the side” aka 5 nights a week 🏒

He’s a busy guy and we are so lucky he’s is ours! Spencer thinks so too 🥹🤍

Send this guy your love today! 🤩
