Nicole, this is a letter from me to me on this International Women’s Day.
Don’t ever forget that you are bad ass.
Not only did you undergo 40 hours of labour (34 unmedicated) to bring a beautiful child into this world. You also were remembering to pay bills in the hospital room for your business, run payroll amidst post partum fog and sleep deprivation. You didn’t miss a birthday or celebration card to appreciate your staff while you were off.
You went back to work 10 days post partum to support your team while still bleeding. You also had to go back to work 5 weeks post partum with your baby on your hip because life was happening and once again you knew you had to rely on yourself.
You’ve worked on your feet until you were 39 weeks pregnant to support others and were back to work 3 months post partum. You’ve worked through grief of a staff member. You’ve had colleagues try and tear you down in this profession all while you maintained professionalism.
You’ve been pulling yourself out of half a million dollars in debt as a 26 year old while supporting yourself and family and renovating a clinic. When people see your success and they NEVER had any skin in the game will never understand the grit it takes to climb that mountain. 🏔️
You’ve survived almost 5 years in business as a woman during a pandemic, 😷 through generational curses, through people who continually try and tell you what box you should or shouldn’t fit it, what you should or shouldn’t be doing as if they have ever run a business before 🤪 you’ve worked through limiting beliefs in people that try and tell you what they think your success should ceiling at.
You have been voted Peterborough’s best Chiropractor three years in a row. Recognized in the Peterborough Examinar, Peterborough Chamber of Commerce Excellence Awards, Women in Business Luminary Awards and more. You serve your people with your heart and try your best to keep it soft despite the world trying to harden it.
You feel like you always have to prove your worth to others but you don’t. You are worthy. You are strong. You are kind. You are woman.
Never forget what you’ve done, who you are, and where you are going 🚀
