If you’ve been told you’re “too emotional” lately… it might not be stress or anxiety.
It could be perimenopause.

The post below highlights what many are just beginning to understand — hormonal shifts during this stage directly impact mood, emotional regulation, and how we experience ourselves. This is biology, not a personality change.

Join Stuck in the Middle With You, a 3-week menopause support group focused on understanding these changes and finding support through the transition. 🌿

Spring sessions: April 16, 23, 30 | 6–8pm

You are not “too emotional.” This could be perimenopause.

If you’ve felt sudden rage, anxiety, or like you’re not yourself, this is not a personality change. It’s biology.

Hormonal shifts in perimenopause impact serotonin, dopamine, and GABA, the same brain pathways that regulate mood and emotional stability.

This is why symptoms can feel intense, unfamiliar, and hard to explain.
And why so many women are dismissed instead of treated.

You deserve to understand what’s happening in your brain and body.

The New Perimenopause breaks down the science and gives you real, evidence-based strategies to support your mental health through this transition.

I wore my sparkly snowflake ❄️ earrings this week…

Because it’s been a long, cold, white winter - and the taste of warmth last week was hopeful.
I needed to find the ✨sparkle✨ in this new snow!

And if you can forget the fact that yesterday was the spring equinox… 🌷
that we are heading towards the end of March…
that Wiarton Willie predicted an early spring…

…well, then there really is some beauty in the quiet white of fresh falling snow!

Perhaps it’s reminding us that the time of rest before new growth is not yet over.
That there is a transition to these kinds of seasonal or life changes.
That while moments of this transition may spark a restlessness to start moving, we can still move slowly. 🐢

I hope you can find some rest and ✨sparkle✨ in this transition time between seasons!

Love is often framed as chemistry, but attachment research points to something else.

What matters most isn’t how strong the feeling is, but whether the bond is reliable. Whether we feel safe to turn toward someone.

This Valentine’s Day, we’re reflecting on love as a secure bond — the romance of responsiveness.

As women, we’re often so busy taking care of everyone else that our own needs quietly move to the bottom of the list. But caring for ourselves matters too—it’s how we stay grounded, connected, and well. 🌷

Stuck in the Middle With You, our support group for women navigating the menopause transition, starts this Thursday, and a few spots are still available.

Join us for connection, laughter, and practical support along the way—you don’t have to navigate this season alone. 💛

❄️ What if it’s hard to lean into the cozy, quiet others talk about when a winter storm rolls in?
What if, instead, it brings restlessness, anxiety, or a sense of dysregulation?

Maybe you’re sensitive to barometric pressure changes and feel it in your body.
Maybe a past storm left its mark, and those memories surface when the weather shifts.
Maybe your worry extends beyond yourself — to people in your home, or to others far away whose safety you can’t easily know.

✨ Whatever the reason, your experience is real — and it deserves recognition.

Pause. Breathe into it. Notice the thoughts and the sensations in your body.
Prepare in gentle, practical ways: candles, flashlights, charged phones, warm blankets, and easy-to-grab snacks close by.
Use the tools you have to soothe your nervous system as best you can, and allow yourself to ride it out.

🌙 If we let them, storms can remind us that even difficult moments pass — and together, we’ll figure out what’s needed in the aftermath.
