Registration is now open for the 2026 Peterborough Butterfly Run! Join us in celebrating the 10th anniversary of the inception of the run!

Our co-chairs of the Peterborough Butterfly Run Executive Committee Ashley Hickson and Kori Zwarych had this to say about the milestone. “This year is the 10th anniversary of the inception of the run. To mark this milestone, our theme this year is gratitude. We want to say thank you to the Peterborough community that has supported the run. Thank you to the volunteers and past committee members who have worked to make it happen. And most important, thanks to every runner, walker, donor and sponsor who has shown their support for the mission of the run. More then anything, the Peterborough Butterfly Run is about community. It takes a caring community to have an event reach a milestone like this.”

Plans are well underway for the 2026 Peterborough Butterfly Run, which marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the event. We will have more details to pass along in the coming weeks. But on this cold winter weekend, we wanted to share with you once more our highlight video from the 2025 run. We look forward to hosting you in Millennium Park once again. Let's hope the snow and cold are gone by the end of April.

Before your calendar starts filling up we wanted to let you know of our upcoming community bereavement kit pack scheduled for Saturday January 10th.

Peterborough Butterfly Run Bereavement Kits are provided to individuals and their families who experience a pregnancy loss at any stage.

Kits include resource information, grief acknowledgment mementos as well as comfort items and are offered at PRHC and PIPC and by local health service providers.

Kits can also be requested by emailing ptbobutterflyrunkits@gmail.com

When : January 10th
Time: 9:30am-11:30
Where: Adam Scott cafeteria
173 Langton St. Peterborough (the corner of Hilliard and Langton)

We will be meeting in the Adam Scott cafeteria and light refreshments will be available.

For all those in our community that may want to participate in another community event for Pregnancy and Infant Loss awareness month PRHC is hosting a Candlelighting Wednesday October 22 at 7:00pm.

Individuals and families affected by perinatal loss are invited to join us at PRHC on Wednesday, October 22 for a candle-lighting service. All are welcome. For details, email lkillen@prhc.on.ca

A month that carries much weight for each of us.

It is a time where we get to honour the babies we never got to hold, the ones we didn’t keep, and the grief that knows no timeline.

To every mom and dad carrying a silent ache you are not alone and this October, we remember them together, we say their names, we share their memories and honour those that love them.
