I was awake with the full moon, around 3:30 a.m. this morning. This allowed for some quiet reflection. Many years ago, I sought some guidance with a 'coach' who proclaimed to have expertise in narcissism. She had a solid social media platform, and, or so I thought, credibility. As it turns out, the entire session I had with her was about her reflecting her own experiences based on what I was saying. As a therapist - I was disappointed. However, this is one of the experiences that inspired me to create 'Transforming Pain to Power', a clinically robust, trauma-informed way to help people heal and be empowered from narcissistic or relational abuse. It wasn't based as much on my own experience - as what clients had told me for decades. If you are really ready to make the commitment to living the best life you can - so am I! DM for more details.

Last evening, my husband and I watched the Louis Theroux documentary 'Inside the Manosphere'. I think we are still processing it today! For at least the least 10 years I have noticed women younger than 30 coming to therapy to talk about men whom they THOUGHT were narcissistic - and some are - but who most certainly embody toxic masculine traits. I am worried for young men. If you are curious, and if you have younger kids I urge you to watch it. At one time or another, many of us will encounter people who are very difficult to live near. Most of us crave community, connection and that attachment village in which to raise kids. Our homes are our safe sanctuaries - but this is not the case if you have a competitive, toxic and contemptuous person living near you. Narcissistic people make the worst possible neighbours. I talk about it more in this video:
