Effective communication isn’t just important with others, it’s even more important with yourself. You probably heard the saying “what you focus on is what you get more of” or some version of that, and it’s absolutely true!

What happens when I say “don’t eat the cookies?” It makes you think of cookies! Wouldn’t you rather say “I eat whole, delicious, colourful foods that fuel my life with energy and clarity!”?

🌟 Have you ever paused to consider how a simple phrase can stir your senses, perhaps even prompt a physical response like salivation?

As a hypnotist with years of experience exploring the intricacies of the mind, I find the power of suggestion endlessly fascinating. It’s a subtle yet profound influence that shapes our perceptions, emotions, and behaviors in quiet, everyday ways. Allow me to illustrate with a gentle exercise.

Envision a vibrant yellow lemon in your hand, its skin smooth and cool to the touch….. imagine you slice it open and the sharp citrus scent wafts all around you. Now, take a bite…..notice the tart juice bursting forth, coating your tongue with its bold, pungent tang. Did you feel a subtle shift, a quickening in your mouth? This is the well-known lemon experiment, a demonstration of how suggestion alone can evoke a genuine physiological reaction, all through the mind’s responsive pathways.

When layered with authority, this becomes prestige suggestion. For instance, a physician’s reassuring words, “This treatment will bring relief” can enhance healing via expectation, as seen in the placebo effect. We naturally lend weight to trusted sources, allowing their suggestions to take deeper root.

Hypnotic Suggestion is a way to accept the suggestions easily where it counts. Did you know hypnosis is totally safe because your subconscious will only accept the suggestions you agree with?? It’s true!!
