Reiki works with the body's energy. It activates the body's natural healing abilities to aid in the healing of body, mind and spirit.

What is REIKI?

- pronounced "Ray-Key"
- means "Universal life energy"
- originated in Japan by Mikao Usui in the 1920's
- a hands on healing technique (some practitioners use non touch)
- the client receives healing while fully clothed
-it works with the body's energy

I could feel myself being called to plant medicine & began getting closer to the right time for a journey.

I ended up having 2 dreams a couple of days in a row. One dream was about me attending a retreat & picking psilocybin off of a tray being offered to me. I felt this was the final message signaling me to move forward on a journey.

Please keep in mind that I am not an expert in this type of plant medicine journeying. I am simply sharing my experience with you. During my journey, I had a experienced guide with me.

My purpose for my journey was to deepen my sense of consciousness & perhaps peel away another layer of healing. Prior to my journey, I journalled my intentions. I ended up writing ✍️ 3 parts that I was hoping would be answered. I'd like to share two of my intentions because I feel the response applies to everyone.

Intention #1: Show me how to love myself unconditionally, to have more confidence & to truly know & feel that I am deserving & worthy of love ❤️

Intention #2: Point me in the direction of my life's purpose. How can I best serve others?

During my journey I wrote down these answers when I received them so I wouldn't forget them.

"Let go of who you thought you were supposed to be .... & step into your light....step into light. Light will always guide you. Your version of who you were/are only exists in your mind & it fails to capture the pure essence of your being."

What might shift if you allowed yourself to step fully into your own light?✨️

✨️ New Year, New Brand ✨️

As I learn, grow & transform & become the healthiest most aligned version of myself . . . so does my work and how I serve others.

Today I am over the moon excited to officially introduce Soaring. Soaring – Wellness is the first chapter of this evolving vision.

My professional practice began in 2017 at Pettigrew Spa with a deep inner knowing of wanting to help people feel happier, healthier, lighter & more connected to themselves & divine energy ✨️

At the time I didn't know much about business but I knew & trusted my divine purpose. I felt a profound calling to support others in experiencing a shift in consciousness & a deeper relationship with their own inner wisdom.

The path hasn't been linear & there definitely have been some ups & downs. Over the years I've had some personal challenges on my own healing journey that have shaped who I am & how I serve others - a parasitic infection, avoidant restrictive food intake disorder, my son's traumatic birth, postpartum depression, lyme disease, histamine intolerance, relationship changes.

These experiences taught me patience, resilience, healing, compassion and the power of listening to body, mind & spirit.

Soaring Wellness is the evolution of Reiki with Heather Conlin. It reflects the depth, expansion & integration that has unfolded within me.

This space/brand is more than healing modalities. It's about remembering who you are beneath the layers. It's about gently rising at your own pace into greater clarity, joy & light

Imposter Syndrome. I used to hear this term & see it used in social media A LOT. Once I tuned into reading more about it, I thought "Oh crap ... I experience this sometimes."

My understanding of this term is that you doubt your talents, skills & capabilities. You sometimes feel like a fraud and that others might doubt you too.

I recently had this surface a bit and was seeing all of the amazing things other practitioners were/are doing. I started feeling a little down on myself. If it's a quiet week or month my mind occasionally goes a little squirrely. I am human after all.

When I come back to my WHY & my purpose then I feel charged. I have no doubt that what I offer is truly AMAZING! And to be honest, I wish everyone tried it because I would love the opportunity to help.

My purpose is to help you;

💫 work through layers of healing
💫 relax & feel lighter
💫 increase/shift your consciousness
💫 forgive self & others

This is a Happiness magnet that my son gave me for my birthday. He pointed out that he picked it out for me.

I said, "Thank you. It's so beautiful." I was immediately struck by the thoughtfulness of the gift & the depth of the words. An old soul in a 10 year old's body.

When I put it up on the fridge I read it again. My eyes welled up with tears. I was struck by the beauty of this special gift.

There have been times in my life where I looked outside of myself to find happiness. I have spent time learning how to truly love & accept myself for the perfectly imperfect being that I am 😊

To me this magnet represents the love, thoughtfulness, emotional intelligence & intuitiveness of my son. It also represents my personal journey toward happiness, discovering my personal power, strength & self-love ❤️

Feeling so grateful 🙏 for the most amazing people in my life. Thank you to my; family, son, friends, clients & partner. You all bring so much joy into my life 🥰 I spent Thanksgiving weekend with family eating delicious food.

I am also feeling grateful 🫶 that the CBT eating disorder program I participated in, for Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) helped me to be able to eat more comfortably in social settings. It feels so freeing to be present with people & conversation while eating rather than consumed by constant anxious food thoughts. I am definitely celebrating this! What's something you're grateful for? I'd love ❤️ to hear.

Many people aren't aware that last year at sanctuary I had fears to eat in front of others. Prior to attending last year, I had been diagnosed with an eating disorder called ARFID (Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder). ARFID was brought on by experiencing a traumatic illness for a year without a diagnosis. My body was ill with a parasitic infection for one year before I had the proper diagnosis/treatment. During that time I developed a lot of unhealthy behaviours around food as a means of survival & safety. The problem was when the illness left . . . the behaviours, thoughts & negative ways of coping around food remained.

I suffered for 11 years until I was finally diagnosed with ARFID. When I attended the retreat last year I was in the middle of treatment and was doing a lot of exposure therapies, meaning putting myself out there in uncomfortable eating situations & using my positive coping skills. Relearning how to eat in social situations, with loud music & eating more without leaving, etc

There was one occasion last year at the retreat where I left the dining hall early because I felt so anxious & uncomfortable dealing with ARFID. I continued to eat meals with others & was able to stay. I completed my ARFID treatment last fall & was officially discharged. Yay! 🙌

When I attended Sanctuary retreat last month, I never had to leave a meal due to eating issues. I still had the occasional anxious thought around food as I am still reprogramming and getting used to the fact that "I CAN DO THIS"

This was the most FREE I felt in group eating situations in a loooong time! This community of dragonflies/friends made it easy to feel SAFE, SUPPORTED, ACCEPTED & LOVED. Thank you 🙏 to my friends in the

Hi! 👋 I'm back! I made it back from Sanctuary Conscious Leaders Retreat. And yes I got a sunburn on the very first day during opening ceremonies 😆 I've been integrating eversince. What a beautiful healing & joyful experience! We laughed, we cried, we sang, we ate, we swam, we healed & we danced. I am so blessed to have been immersed in this beautiful sanctuary for 5 days with so many beautiful souls 💗 (). I'll share some more of my experiences in my upcoming posts.

I love music & concerts but hadn't attended them in so long due to my battle with an eating disorder called arfid (Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake disorder). I honestly didn't know it even existed.

I had a parasitic infection for at least a year undiagnosed so I felt certain foods, eating situations & social settings weren't safe for me anymore. I suffered with arfid for 11 years. I had some positive moments however overall I was anxious in most social scenarios especially those involving food or crowds. I had also been dealing with other health issues & adrenal depletion but I'll save that for another post.

My bf bought me a ticket as a gift last Christmas to see City & Colour () in Oshawa. I was excited but also very nervous/anxious When I received the gift, I asked " Do you think I can do this?" "Of course!" he replied & was supportive & encouraging.

The day arrived and we ate at a café. I still had thoughts of not wanting to eat too much or be too full. The café was quiet so I felt comfortable. We attended the concert & had a blast! Somehow I managed to gather my strength, stay present with the music & those previous anxieties didn't control the situation. It also helped that I had the support of my partner. Btw if you haven't seen City & Colour, you must 😉🥰

That exposure therapy was successful 🙌 I was still waiting to attend the eating disorder program to help me advance with more consistency & for me to understand more about arfid.

It's important to continue searching for information & treatments for health & wellness. My advice is to find a combination of things that work for you & also be willing to try new things. Sometimes new things may take a period of time before you notice positive change.

I suffered for 11 years with an eating disorder called ARFID (Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder) due to a past traumatic illness. I thought I had ptsd due to having a parasite stealing my nutrients while it camped out in my body for an entire year. It was a trial & error with dr's & a naturopathic dr until finally it passed in 2014 with the help of herbal remedies. Unfortunately I was left with a lot of after effects due to being ill for so long.

I was anxious & nervous to;

- be around a lot of people
- hear loud noises (sometimes)
- eat in front of others
- eat in restaurants
- eat large portions
- eat meat sometimes (especially chicken because that is how I got ill)
- eat foods that had strange textures
- feel sick to my stomach
-feel too full
- feel too hungry
- & smell strong smells

This posed many challenges in my life. I was responsible to care for a now 9 year old and bless his heart ❤️ he was a great supporter & very empathetic. Honestly, I know I pushed myself in order to do more so I could give him the best life.

I did my own exposure therapy to eat in restaurants. Sometimes it was successful but other times I would wretch, get anxious, leave the restaurant, visit the washroom frequently to escape or chicken out before even eating. It was horrible & extremely embarrassing!

I hid. I avoided the scenarios that would trigger all of these horrible feelings. I thought in some way that was helpful & that I was protecting myself, however it was reiterating to my brain & body that those situations weren't safe which prolonged the behaviours.

A hiatal hernia triggered me & all of these symptoms came flying at me in full force. I visited my dr, my naturopathic dr & was referred to a social worker. She ended up identifying the eating issue & consulted with the eating disorder clinic at the Peterborough Regional Health Center. I was willing to try anything to get better & live a more fulfilling life.

The wait for the program seemed to take forever but eventually I was accepted in 2024 & learned more about helping myself and why it happened in the first place. I finally felt like there was hope.
