The Trans Peer Outreach program offers supports and services for transgender and gender diverse people, to assist them to improve the quality of their lives through the provision of community-based, client centered care that supports positive interdependence. Services are delivered by people with lived experience as a transgender or gender-diverse person, and who also may have experience living with a mental health concern. Trans Peer Outreach services are founded upon the principle that peers can better understand, relate to and support individuals with similar experiences, related to the health and wellbeing of people within this population, and are in a unique position to offer assistance. One to one Peer Support services can provide assistance in the following areas; reducing Isolation and/or self-isolating behaviour, developing wellness tools/strategies, assistance with accessing supportive communities, exploring gender identity, development of resources for navigating and accessing Health Care, and information and strategies to assist with transitioning. We seek and welcome collaboration with others who share our goal of creating, providing and improving services for trans, non-binary and gender diverse people throughout our communities.

🧩BOARD GAME NIGHT🧩

Join us Wednesday January 21st for a fun night of board games! This event is a great way to get to know some of the other trans, gender q***r, and/or gender nonconforming folx of Peterborough in a comfy and cool way! 🎲

We will be meeting at the Board Walk Cafe in downtown Peterborough! This will be a great way to explore other support spaces and get people involved in the community!

Join the community on November 20th, 2025, from 5-7pm at Mark Street United Church to commemorate Trans Day of Remembrance.
This years event will be in doors to accommodate the November weather. There will be a brief presentation about intimate partner violence, and then the evening will be about community connection and allowing space to share, remember, and reflect.

Come hangout on Wednesday November 19th from 5-7pm at the HOPE Learning Center to practice mending and patching old and new clothing!

Bring your current project or something new to start! We all have clothes we want to spruce up, and this is the perfect event!

🐫TRIP TO THE ZOO🐪

Join us on Wednesday October 15th from 4pm to 6pm at the Peterborough zoo for a walk around the grounds. We will be meeting at the main gates at 4pm before beginning our walk!

Gender Journeys provides information, opportunities and support services for people who identify as transgender or gender creative. We provide support programs for families, friends and partners of transgender and gender creative people as well as resources, workshops and educational opportunities to service organizations, professionals, allies and communities that make up Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge.
