It’s about nervous system capacity

If you overwhelm the system, you don’t heal faster.
You reinforce unsafety

I am tracking how much your body can safely open and integrate

There’s nothing wrong with you for still holding onto things from the past.

Your body learned how to protect you in moments when you had less choice, less voice, or less safety.

That response was valid. It helped you get through something real.

The tricky part is that the body doesn’t always know when the situation has changed.

So when a new opportunity, relationship, or decision shows up, your body might react like it’s in the past... even though you’re actually here, with more autonomy, clearer boundaries, and more capacity than before.

That doesn’t mean you’re broken.
It means your body is still doing its job.

Healing isn’t about forcing yourself to “be over it.”

It’s about helping your body catch up to who you are now.

When the body gets online with the present moment, it can soften its grip and register:

I’m safe.
I know my limits.
I’m choosing this from today.

And from there, change feels very different 🤍

We have been seeing “2026 is the new 2016.”

And honestly, I don’t think that’s quite right.
2016 was a 9 year.
So was 2025.

Closing cycles. Disruption. Things ending because they had to.

Maybe the remembering of 2016 isn’t about going back...
but about making peace with the similar energies that showed up last year.

Seeing how far we’ve come.
Noticing what we survived.

Recognizing the patterns we no longer need to repeat.

2026 is different.
It’s a 1 year.

Not about repeating the past...
but about reconfiguring your life from what you now know.

Discovering a new path.

Finding your place inside systems you’ve outgrown.

Meeting a truer version of yourself.
2025 may have cleared the ground.

So I heard we’re revisiting 2016.

Tiny kids.
Constant travel.
Italy, New York, Cleveland, Mexico, Florida.
Gluten-free beginnings.
Kombucha experiments.

A full, busy, beautiful season.

It probably felt stressful at the time.
Looking back, it feels carefree in a way only hindsight can offer.

This was a gift to revisit...
to honour where we were,

We often talk about letting go of control like it’s supposed to feel freeing.

But for many bodies, it feels scary.
Or tight.
Or completely numb.

That doesn’t mean you’re resistant.

It means you learned that control equals safety, worth, and goodness.

Your body is responding exactly as it was taught.

This work isn’t about fixing the response.

It’s about listening.

Honoring.

Letting your body set the pace.

There is no wrong way to feel here.

Only wisdom.

Sometimes the body tightens not because something is wrong, but because we’ve decided there’s only one acceptable outcome.

We hold our breath.
We brace.
We try to manage what comes next.

Control can feel responsible or necessary,
but it often limits movement—internally and externally.

When we stop insisting that things unfold a certain way, the body responds first.

There’s a little more ease.
A little more room to adapt.

Change doesn’t always come from effort.

Sometimes it comes from releasing the pressure to get it “right.”

2025 asked me to let go of what I used to feel safe

It asked me to release identities, patterns, and structures that once held me... but no longer fit.

As I move into 2026, I feel more me.
That can feel tender. Vulnerable. Bare.
And yet… it’s also deeply grounding.

A clean foundation. A truer place to move from.

This year wasn’t easy, but it was liberating.
A freedom that could only come through shedding.

I’m grateful for the shifts, and proud of myself for allowing them.

I don’t subscribe to the pressure of New Year’s resolutions, but I do honour the collective pause and restart we create.

This feels like a moment to listen inward…
to notice what wants to emerge from this new ground.

For now, I’m tending to my energy,
allowing the newness to form slowly,
trusting what’s unfolding beneath the surface.

Give yourself the space to reflect and process all that 2025 brought you and feel around for your silver lining.
