HIP IMPINGEMENT can be a cause of discomfort and hip pain, particularly with repetitive hip flexion. Abnormalities in the "ball and socket" joint of the hip result in this painful condition.

Pain management and rest are important in managing symptoms. Physical therapy involving strengthening of the muscles that support the hip joint is also important in the management of symptoms and may improve stability and post-operative outcomes (if applicable).
