The Pickering Race Camp, started by Jim Farintosh in 2023, has been passed on to Alkame and will be returning to Frenchman's Bay in May of 2026!

Alkame acknowledges that the City of Pickering, and our paddling home, resides on land within the Treaty and traditional territory of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation and Williams Treaties signatories of the Mississauga and Chippewa Nations.

While this acknowledgment reminds us of our responsibilities to our relationships with the First Peoples of Canada and to the ancestral lands on which we learn, share, work, and live, today is a critical day to honour the Survivors and remember the children who never came home from the residential schools.
