One thing weāve learned through our work at the food bank is that supporting a community isnāt only about food. Itās also about health, dignity, and the everyday essentials that help people get through the week.
Thank you to Fulmore's PharmaChoice for supporting the Pictou West Food Bank with these Option+ bags. Local pharmacies play a unique role in our communities. They are often one of the first places people turn when they need help, advice, or support. They see firsthand how quickly life circumstances can change for people.
Things like shampoo, soap, toothpaste, and hygiene products are some of the most requested items at the Pictou West Food Bank ā and they are also some of the hardest for us to keep stocked.
Unlike food, these items are not often donated in large quantities, which means we rely heavily on the support of our community to help keep what we sometimes call the āpharmacy aisleā at the food bank full.
Right now, we are completely out of shampoo and very low on bars of soap. If you can help, we are grateful.
Community care doesnāt happen in just one place.
ā
It happens in grocery stores.
ā
It happens in pharmacies.
ā
It happens in local businesses.
ā
And it happens when people decide to help their neighbours.
