🦶ATTENTION: to people who develop corns🦶
Corns are thickened areas of skin caused by pressure and friction particularly over a boney prominence on the foot or toe. The outer layer of skin does this in a way to protect the deeper parts of the skin and bone.
🌟🌟It is important to keep corns reduced as the corn itself can cause pressure to the underlying tissue. Changes in the foot or a foot deformity can be the root cause of corns, shoe inserts can be helpful in offloading pressure to particular area.
Prolonged pressure and friction (as pictured) can cause bleeding beneath the corn and in turn can become infected and ulcerated.
