CHANGE THE FEED. CHANGE THE FARM.
430 pregnant cattle from the neighbours.
Standing corn grazing for 3.5 months; no combine, no silage-making.
And no synthetic fertilizer to grow the crop. Reduced Round Up by half.
The economics are ground breaking. Using Bio-Agtive grown corn with intensive grazing throughout the late fall and winter we’re seeing:
* Feed costs within the intensive grazing regime: $0.55 (irrigated, higher plant population) – $0.78 (dryland) per head/day
* Conventional systems: ~$3.28 per head/day (AI research for Southern Alberta)
That’s 4–6× lower feed cost.
Production costs are just as remarkable:
* Bio-Agtive corn: $145 (dryland; 22K plants) –$181/acre (irrigated; 33K plants)
* Conventional corn: ~$393/acre (AI researched for Southern Alberta)
Meanwhile the system runs with:
* 430 head moved daily
* daily acres of corn fed: 1.3 (irrigated) –2.3 (dryland) acres of standing corn/day
* High-intensity winter grazing
* Standard mineral licks
We continue to monitor the remaining cows, in the video you can see their excellent condition, heading home to calf after spending 3.5 months here on a nutritious Bio-Agtive corn diet.
This is emissions farming — where crops, nutrition, cattle, soil biology, carbon outcomes, and farm prosperity work in the same system.
