DYK? Today is Giving Tuesday!

Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of radical generosity created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Since then, it has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

We’re deeply grateful to The Judith & Norman Alix Foundation for their generous additional investment of $300,000 in support of our Intensive Outreach Treatment Team. This funding makes an incredible impact - helping us add a new van to improve access to treatment, expand clinical staffing, and increase specialized mental health assessment services for children, youth, and families across Sarnia-Lambton.

Together, we’re building stronger pathways to care, connection, and hope.

DYK? Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance, an annual observance on November 20 that honors the memory of the transgender people whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence.

According to glaad.org, Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) was started in 1999 by transgender advocate Gwendolyn Ann Smith as a vigil to honor the memory of Rita Hester, a transgender woman who was killed in 1998. The vigil commemorated all the transgender people lost to violence since Rita Hester’s death, and began an important tradition that has become the annual Transgender Day of Remembrance.
