What is visceral fat? Why is it important?
Visceral fat is the fat that is in your middle, surrounds your vital organs and is for most of us the fat that bothers us the most!!
That shirt doesn't feel right or my pants button isn't doing up!!!
Visceral fat is critical because, while it normally cushions organs and stores energy, excess amounts act as a highly active metabolic organ, releasing inflammatory chemicals and hormones that drive insulin resistance, heart disease, diabetes, and chronic inflammation. Its deep abdominal location directly impacts organ health.
