The Ontario Public Health Standards are published by the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care under the authority of section 7 of the Health Protection and Promotion Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. The Ontario Public Health Standards (OPHS) and Protocols establish the minimum requirements for fundamental public health programs and services, which include:

assessment and surveillance
health promotion and policy development
disease and injury prevention
health protection. They provide direction on how boards of health must operationalize specific requirement(s) identified within the OPHS. Ontario Public Health Standards (OPHS) & Protocols 2008 (Nov. 2008)

We are looking for information about the location of two dogs and their owners following two separate dog bite incidents that occurred in Sarnia on March 30 and March 31, 2026.

The first incident occurred on March 30, 2026, at approximately 2:30 p.m. on East Street North, across from The Nut Bar. The dog is described as a blond-coloured Cocker Spaniel with a pink leash. The dog was being walked by a female with brown or blond hair and was accompanied by a child in a stroller.

The second incident occurred on March 31,2026 at approximately 4:45 p.m. on of Norm Perry Park. The dog is described as a medium-sized, light brown, short-haired dog that was off leash. The owner of the dog was described as a middle-aged white male.

Don’t wait – Tuesday is almost here.

If your child received a Suspension Order under the Immunization of School Pupils Act (ISPA), you must report their updated immunizations or a valid exemption by Tuesday. Without this information, your child could be suspended from school starting March 10.

If your child received a Suspension Order under the Immunization of School Pupils Act (ISPA), and their immunizations or a valid exemption is still not reported, they can be suspended from school beginning March 10.

Lambton Public Health is seeking information about the location of a dog and its owner following a dog bite incident that occurred in Sarnia around 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, on Devine St. across from Westbury Ct.

The dog is described as black, medium build, resembling a pitbull, and was being walked by a male owner who appeared to be in his late teens or early 20’s. The owner was accompanied by two other people around the same age.

Even if your child received some vaccines, their record may still be incomplete if all required doses were not reported. Check your child’s immunization record, report all doses to Lambton Public Health and stay up to date and avoid school suspension.

Suspension Orders have been mailed to parents and guardians whose child’s immunization record or valid exemption has not been reported to public health.

The Immunization of School Pupils Act (ISPA) requires proof of certain vaccines or a valid exemption for students’ school attendance. Reporting now can help avoid suspension.

UPDATE - Feb. 11, 2026: Lambton Public Health has been in contact with the owners of the dogs in question.

Lambton Public Health is seeking information about the location of two dogs and their three owners following a dog bite incident that occurred around 9:00 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 9, 2026, on the Howard Watson Trail, close to Huron Baptist Church. The dogs are described as black, brown, and white Bernese Mountain dogs with leashes, and were being walked by a man and two women.
