When was the last time you took inventory of your life to see what is not longer serving you?
Sometimes things sneak their way back in. Or maybe you’ve never really looked at this!

What does “not serving me” even mean? Does it make you feel anxious or stressed? Worried for no good reason? Is it more negative than positive for you— even if in theory it’s a “good thing”?

These things can come in many forms. Relationships. Friends on Facebook. TV shows. Instagram accounts you follow. Etc., etc.

Letting go can feel scary, but it will not only make you feel lighter, but allow space for new opportunities.
This is growth in real time 🌿

Getting out of our fight or flight state is key to a life of peace. One where you can focus, grow, and breathe. In fight or flight we are on high alert and cannot rest.
This is what we call it when our sympathetic nervous system is active and we are in a state of stress. This stress response is meant to keep us safe, pumping us full of adrenaline and cortisol to get us out of threatening situations by fighting or fleeing. The thing is, we don't need this skill that much these days! Overactivation of the SNS can lead to serious health issues in the long run. SO what do we do?
One of the branches of the nervous system, the autonomic nervous system, has two main settings: sympathetic and parasympathetic. Sympathetic, as mentioned, is our emergency state. In contrast, the parasympathetic is the 'rest and digest' state. Being here allows for proper digestion, clear thinking, deeper sleep, lower blood pressure, and much more.

Take a peek at these tips on how to shift to the parasympathetic state and find calm for your system:

'The Limitless Lifestyle'- what is it? ✨
This is a mindset and approach established by Jim Kwik, world renowned brain coach and author.

I have had quite a journey when it comes to input and learning. There have been many phases and turns along the way, but I am finally at a point where I understand the absolute importance of being choosy with your input! Just like we should have boundaries and be purposeful with our output (where we spend our time and energy), our input can affect our stress levels, self view, and path to success.

The input coming at us from the world is so constant and overwhelming that ONE DAY for us piles on the same amount of information that an individual would have received in a whole year, historically.

Being selective with what you allow in is VITAL.

It is finally starting to look more like spring outside, and I am ready to celebrate!
After a long, restricted winter the spring seems like a breath of fresh air. It’s the season for resetting and clearing out what is no longer useful.
This is a wonderful practice, one which can be applied to our lives internally as well as externally. One way to help yourself reset is breathwork. Breathwork can take many forms, and there are countless youtube videos out there on the subject.
One of my favorite breathing techniques is box breathing or square breathing. It is simple: breathe in for four, hold for four, breathe out for four, hold for four, repeat.
Simple, clean, and effective.

It does not have to wait till spring to happen- you can practice these methods every single day. Head over to my website to watch a couple video examples of box breathing and to read about why breathwork is helpful in the first place!

Do you have a favorite breathing technique? Leave a comment :)

It is finally starting to look more like spring outside, and I am beyond happy. This season is filled with fresh starts- from spring cleaning to refreshing rains and sprouting buds. Resetting and refreshing our world is a great practice to engage in, and it doesn't have to wait till the spring. We c...

What are some of your daily habits?
What habits are you hoping to start implementing?

For me, it is celery juice and morning exercise. They are both "in progress", happening often, but not every single day.

I have nailed down a series of other things, slowly but surely. Lemon water, for example. I try and do 16 oz or so first thing in the morning to help hydrate and detox my body.

It takes time for habits to really take hold, and that can be frustrating, but that is okay! It does not happen instantly, but every single time you choose to do something for yourself or your health it makes a difference!

One step at a time.

I have noticed myself revisiting the past or living in the future more than usual. Possibly because I spend more time alone with my thoughts than I did pre-lockdown! The issue is that this kind of thinking steals from the here and now. I blink and the day is over.

Here's the thing- I don't know what the future holds, and the past isn't always easy to forget or let go of, but I know that the here and now is key. If we don't focus on staying present we miss out.
It's not a novel concept, but it is true!

Embrace the fact that this year/day/hour may unfold differently than planned or expected. Throw out your expectation and enjoy the ride, the newness of it all. Have goals and work on yourself daily, absolutely, but do not cling to a path or timeline.

Someone once told me 'not to expect but to discover', which has been exceptionally helpful for me over the last few months. It is applicable in many scenarios- relationships, career goals, personal plans, and more.

It is not an easy mindset to adopt. It takes effort. I remind myself daily- hourly, to be honest.

So what is the takeaway? In short, the more you practice living in the present the more it becomes your norm.

Discover, don't dictate.

The topic of personal growth is complex! A quick search online is enough to show how comprehensive the definition itself is.
To summarize, it seems that personal growth is anything that genuinely improves your life.
But how can we focus in on personal development while dealing with the busyness of life?

Judgement. We all do it. Whether we admit to it or not, we do. 🧠

For most of us the worst judgement we ever throw is directly aimed at OURSELVES. This can be detrimental.
Find out why & see some resources on what to do about it all in the latest Wellness Wall post:

WELL with Rebekah - the WELLness Wall. Judgement. We all do it. For most of us the worst kind is directly aimed at ourselves. Let's see how to deal with these thoughts, and what to do to build a positive mindset and future.
