Strength won't grow when the mind says no.
Post-Modern society tells you that you have to learn to say no. Not true. Saying no is your problem.
It's not dead motivation that is wrecking your Training Days and Gamedays and strength and passion and ambition. The problem is listening to the voice of temptation that convinces your mind to say no to work, working out, practice, lifting, learning, sprinting, sets, supersets, reps, and heavier reps.
Every time your mind says no, your strength doesn't grow.
Instead, you grow prematurely old at any age.

Every set is a blessed opportunity to get stronger.
Bad news. The mind is susceptible to the voice of temptation that tries to confuse your sacred opportunities as being a pain in the ass. Every set challenges your will. You're left with 2 choices - persevere or quit because of fear.

Fear of work and the perceived discomfort and pain, presses the Off Switch that shuts off the will to fight. When the will to fight dies, your mind believes lies. The biggest lie is that you've run out of gas. That you're on empty. You're not. The mind's first warning that you're out of fuel is a lie.
Believing that lie, kills your will to try. And vice-versa.

Quit on your next set, weaker you get.
Then it becomes a habit.
Leaves you unfit.

Stop trying, it all starts dying.
When it starts dying, then they start lying.
You & your competition all have the same goal - to reach the next level.
But you all don't have the same drive or ambition or will or balls.
The litmus test is Training Day.
Someone builds their strength.
Someone kills their strength.
It's always been that way.
They give you all the same chance to show up on Training Day.
They give you all the same chance to Grow More to grow your Final Score.

Good news. They made 45s to increase size - multiple meanings. Strength, muscle, endurance, will, armour, balls.

Bad news.
No 45s, strength dies.
When strength dies, Gameday pain and suffering multiplies.
The word 'lies' is included in the word 'multiplies' for a reason.
Because multiple lies is an anabolic agent of weakness, failure, and chronic losing.

Push weight around or get pushed around.
Gameday doesn't give second chances.
You & your opponent have the same 2 Gameday choices: show up strong or show up weak.
Strength gets rewarded.
Weakness can't be afforded.
When you decide you can't afford showing up weak, Gameday rewards you with the win instead of pain & suffering.

There are only 3 places where you start at the top:
Bench press
Squats
Ditchdigging.

Good news.
No one gets to the top without starting at the top.

Your toughest fight is with comfort.
When comfort wins, you lose.
Addiction to comfort is your worst enemy.
It will kill your passion, fire & desire, leaving you defenceless against your Gameday opponent, on/in Any Field.
Result?
You become a human punching bag who hangs around taking shots.
You never fight back after all your fight is dead.
After comfort kills all your effort, you resort to living vicariously hoping to fill the emptiness of all the psychological voids that developed from all the Training Days you avoid.

Excuses become ingrained with repeated use.
After an excuse is wired inside you, it becomes part of you and your worldview & workview.
Left unchecked, you get stuck on a behavioural loop where you build an emotional attachment to consequences of actions and inactions.
Nothing changes until there’s a break in the action and inaction - dual meaning.
It’s dangerous to get used to it even when it makes you unfit.
The worst part is when you see it and don’t do anything about it.
It’s tough to fix what is Comfortably Broken - dual meaning.
Comfort breaks you into half-ass, leaving your ambition in the past.

All self-inflicted Gameday pain is the direct result of being too lazy to train.
On/in Any Field.
The risk of Gameday misery is not a mystery.
The likelihood of Gameday misery rises with every inferior, incompetent Training Day.
The unwillingness to invest the full degree of training into Gameday is a sign of a mental health problem.
Knowing that Gameday misery is a consequence of Training incompetence and ignoring it is overwhelming evidence that you/team are threats to yourselves.
How much Gameday misery does it take to change how you train?

To change the Final score, lift until you can't lift no more.
They call it the Final Score for a reason.
They don’t let you change it.
There’s no re-write, no re-marking, no appeals.
You can only change the next Final Score by training more.
More practice, more sets, more reps.
More learning, more lifting.
Bad news - ‘more’ strikes fear in 98.6% of human minds.
Reason?
‘More’ means more work.
You’ve heard it before - if you don’t like the Final Score, work more.
If you/team don’t like to work more, don’t cry and complain about the same losing Final Score.
You’ve all got the same 60 minutes of Gametime.
If you didn’t score enough, you didn’t train enough.
You didn’t work enough.
You didn’t workout enough.
You didn’t learn enough.
Gameday doesn’t give you extra points out of sympathy for your weakness.
Good news. Solution.
Change your weakness, change your absence of success.
Train with a vengeance.
Otherwise, suffer the same old consequence - dual meaning.
