Christie’s journey is one of courage, resilience, and deep compassion. Every day, she brings hope and honesty to the women walking through our doors, showing them that recovery is not only possible — it’s powerful.

Her lived experience fuels her work, her heart leads her service, and her strength inspires us all. We’re so proud of you, Christie. Thank you for being a light in our community and a fierce advocate for healing.

🌟 National Addictions Awareness Week 🌟

This week, we join communities across Canada in shining a light on the realities of addiction and the hope found in recovery. At Hope for Freedom Society, we believe that every person deserves dignity, support, and the chance to rebuild their life.

Addiction doesn’t discriminate—it touches families, workplaces, and neighborhoods. But together, we can break the stigma, open doors to healing, and stand alongside those who are struggling.

💙 Let’s use this week to:

• Listen with compassion
• Share stories of hope
• Advocate for resources and support
• Remind one another that recovery is possible

🇨🇦 Remembrance Day 2025

Today, we pause to honour the courage and sacrifice of those who served—and continue to serve—our country in times of war, peacekeeping, and humanitarian aid.

At Hope for Freedom Society, we recognize that freedom is never free. It is built on the resilience of those who stood for justice, and the legacy of those who gave everything so others could live with dignity and hope.

We remember not only the fallen, but also the veterans who walk among us—some facing invisible battles, some rebuilding their lives. Their strength inspires our mission to support those overcoming adversity, addiction, and trauma.

Let us carry forward their spirit of service by lifting each other up, advocating for those in need, and building communities rooted in compassion.

Congratulations to our own Mark F. on 14 years of clean and serene sobriety. Mark plays an important leadership role with our organization as the Director of Client services. Mark makes sure that the needs of our residents are always at the top of our priority list, and he is one of our longest serving employees. He also mentors many of our new staff members. Thank you for your commitment and unparalleled work ethic - you are an inspiration to all of us!

A very slightly belated congratulations to Dennis T. Dennis is an alum, and has stayed with our organizatin to be our #1 volunteer driver. Dennis makes sure our men arrive at various meetings, engagements, and appointments safe, secure and happy. Thank you Dennis, it works if you work it!!!
