We had the privilege over the last few months of working with the talented for some new headshots, and we couldn't be happier with the results 😁 highly recommend her! Not only is she talented but she has a way to make women feel beautiful and comfortable in their own skin and she has a way of making even the most nervous model feel at ease. Thank you Janet ❤️

Our communities are carrying a great deal of heartache following this week’s tragedy impacting John Diefenbaker Senior School. Many families are navigating conversations with children and youth who are grieving.

As a school board, we want to acknowledge the weight of this moment and offer a few gentle supports that can help at home.

When children are grieving, they often look to the adults in their lives for steadiness, honesty, and connection. Here are a few reminders that can make a meaningful difference right now.

• Speak openly in simple, clear language. Children take their cues from us, and honesty builds safety.
• Listen more than you think you need to. Sometimes the most healing thing is knowing that someone truly hears them.
• There is no one way to grieve. Some children talk, others withdraw, and there are those who show their feelings through movement, play, or big emotions. All of it is okay.
• Keep routines in place where you can. Predictability helps children feel safe when their world feels shaken.
• Remember together. Saying the person’s name or sharing memories invites children to open up on their own time.
• Reach out for help if you are worried. Asking for support is a strength, not a failure.

Most of all, take care of yourself. Grieving alongside children is heavy work, and the community’s well-being begins with the well-being of its adults.

If you or your child needs support, please reach out to your BWDSB school or local community agencies. Some helpful resources are listed below. We are here to walk beside you.

Get • This week is Transgender Awareness Week, a vital time to celebrate our trans siblings and take action to support the trans community across Canada. 🏳️‍⚧️

It’s a week dedicated to elevating trans voices, sharing their stories, and educating ourselves on how to be better allies. Visibility matters, but it must be paired with concrete support and action.

Let’s use this week to:
✨ Amplify trans creators and leaders.
📚 Educate ourselves on trans history and rights.
🗣️ Speak up against transphobia and misinformation.
❤️ Show up for the trans people in our lives with unwavering support.

True allyship means listening, learning, and standing in solidarity, not just this week, but all year round. The well-being and rights of trans people are non-negotiable.

Welcome Sarah to Counselling Bruce County 🤗

Hello, my name is Sarah and I’m a Registered Social Worker (MSW, RSW).

I provide individual talk therapy to youth and adults. My areas of expertise include counselling in relation to addiction, trauma, grief, disabilities, life transitions, parenting and relationships, as well as mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal ideation, personality disorders, and bipolar disorders. I have significant experience in working with neurodiverse individuals (autism, ADHD), Indigenous Peoples, and members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community.

As a therapist I integrate wholistic approaches that support balance and connection, with an awareness of the potential impacts of trauma and oppression.
