Question of the day: are Optometrists doctors?
The answer? In Canada, the United States, Australia, and New Zeland for example, yes! Optometrists (also known as ODs) are doctors.

There are other countries around the world such as the UK, France, and Germany where training may be shorter or structured differently. They may be considered allied eye-care professionals rather than doctors. Our OD, Dr. Sandra Chiu, underwent and completed 4 years of undergrad and 4 years of Optometry School to become a Doctor of Optometry.

Canada recognizes Optometrists as doctors and they are licensed as such🇨🇦
