🎭 We All Need a Home 🎭
We’re excited to share this powerful new theatre production coming to Massey Theatre, exploring what home means, and who gets to belong.
Created through disability theatre and guided by self-advocates, this production brings forward real lived experiences and invites important conversations about inclusive housing, community, and dignity.
In a time when housing is a major issue across our communities, this work asks us to listen, reflect, and think differently about inclusion.

April 28 is the National Day of Mourning to remember and honour those lives lost or injured due to a workplace tragedy.

Today at CVS, we take a moment to honour lives changed forever by workplace tragedy.

Behind every statistic is a person, a family, a story, and a community that carries the impact.

We remember workers across Canda who have died, been injured, or become ill because of their work. And we recognize our shared responsibility to make workplaces safer for everyone.

Today we recognize Day during National Deaf History Month.
American Sign Language is more than a language. It is connection, identity, and culture. National Deaf History Month is a time to celebrate the history, contributions, and achievements of folks in the Deaf and hard of hearing communities. As always, we also reflect on the importance of accessibility and inclusion.
Let’s continue building spaces where communication is accessible and everyone belongs.

What used to be Autism Awareness Month was changed in 2021 by autistic advocates and communities to better reflect what is needed most.

So: April is Autism Acceptance Month.

Awareness is simply knowing autism exists. Acceptance goes further. It is about respect, inclusion, and valuing autistic people for who they are.

Acceptance means listening to autistic voices, creating spaces where people do not have to hide who they are, and building a world where neurodiversity is embraced as a natural part of human difference.

This month, we move beyond awareness and focus on real acceptance.

Housing is a Right. For every person.

Inclusive housing is more than a place to live, it's a human right and foundation for choice, belonging, and full participation in all aspects of life.

Our position statement on Access to Housing for Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities calls on all levels of government to use this clear definition:
👉Inclusive housing means safe, affordable, accessible homes where people with disabilities can live by choice, in dispersed mixed-income neighbourhoods, with the supports they need to participate fully in community life.

April 2 is World Autism Awareness Day, a day to increase understanding and acceptance of autism. Autism is a neurological difference that affects how people communicate, perceive, and experience the world. Each individual’s strengths and challenges are unique.
Today, celebrate diversity, promote inclusion, and support individuals and families in our communities. By raising awareness, we help create spaces where everyone can thrive and be valued for who they are.

Trisomy Awareness Month is observed every March to increase understanding of trisomy conditions. Trisomy occurs when a person has three copies of a chromosome, which can affect individuals in many ways. While Down syndrome is one type of trisomy, this month reminds us that trisomy is about more than just Down syndrome.
It’s a time to raise awareness, support individuals and families affected by trisomy, and celebrate the unique strengths and contributions of everyone living with these conditions.

This month reminds us to raise awareness, support individuals and families living with epilepsy, and promote understanding, inclusion, and safety in our communities. Everyone’s experience is unique, and every person deserves to be seen, heard, and supported.
