In two weeks time Eastholme will host it's 3rd Annual Winter Wonderland full of lights, vendors, and holiday magic including a visit from Santa himself!

As we come to the end of WEEK 6 of our volunteer shout-outs, we take this opportunity to highlight this lovely gentleman...

Meet Bill!

Originally from the Barrie area, and also having lived in Orillia and Toronto, Bill relocated first to Burk's Falls and then to Sundridge. He has kept very busy over the years with his career working in grocery stores including Burk's Falls and South River.

Since he "would rather be out keeping busy 6-7 days a week than sitting in the house in front of the idiot box📺" he started to volunteer... and as a result has helped so many people!

When he isn't busy volunteering Bill likes to hunt, go ice fishing, and rebuild computers - in which he is self-taught.

Here's another one of our amazing volunteers we celebrated with last week at our appreciation dinner...

Meet Gina!

Gina is fairly new to our area, having moved here about a year ago with her husband.

With her two sons being in university and she and her husband moving toward retirement, she approached us when she heard we needed volunteers and we are very glad she did as she is now delivering meals for us and driving clients!

Gina is no stranger to volunteer work having dedicated her time to schools, church, and a community food and clothing centre for vulnerable people experiencing poverty.

In her spare time when she's not volunteering she likes to hike with her dog, and she and her husband enjoy life on the water boating 🛥 and operating an Airbnb.

Meet Bill!

Bill has volunteered for us as a transportation driver since way back in 2002.

He drove consistently for many years, and although he stepped away from it for a bit he recently came back and we are so glad he did!

Volunteering runs in the family as both his wife Lisa and his son Josh volunteered for us as well.

Bill is not afraid of the long trips or driving in the GTA... most likely because he used to be a transport truck owner/operator based in Toronto for over a decade before moving to Sunny Sundridge🌞

If you're from Sundridge, you likely know Bill from his company Integrity Service which he has been operating for the past 36 years - specializing in both marine service and small equipment service.

Outside of work Bill has kept very busy over the years lending a helping hand to community members who needed it. Plus, he is a devoted father of 5 with three of his kids living locally and two in the city - merging the best of both rural and urban living together.
