Overwhelmed by colour choices or downsizing choices. It helps to have someone guide you through.

As I planned to head out for my pedicure. I said “oh what colour to get?” My son told me the colour he thought would be great. I instantly felt calmer. It was an option. When I got to the pedicure I looked at all the colours and I explained what my son said and we decided on the colour.

It reminded me that sometimes it is so calming to be told what choice to make or what to do next or at least to be giving options. This helps with decision fatigue.

Also, being there reminded me to clean out the old nail polish I have at home. A great 5 minute task.

Have you ever been told to breakdown tasks into smaller steps? And that seems logical yet still overwhelming.

I am here to help walk you through choices and breakdown the task during challenging transitions.

Decluttering needs time and space. More is changing besides your environment.
We are accepting a new identity of - who are we now?
I am ready to move forward into the new me!
This process can take time so be kind to yourself as the shift happens.

We’re often told, “You can’t take your stuff with you when you die, so just let it go.”

But when we talk about downsizing, it should never sound like:
“Let’s get rid of your things so I don’t have to deal with them later.”

It should sound like:
“I want your home to be safe, peaceful, and filled with what brings you joy.”

People don’t want to be erased while they are still living.
They want to be seen, respected, and supported.

Downsizing with compassion creates balance, dignity, and peace for everyone.

If you’re walking through this process and need support, I’m here. 🤍

Not to be confused with settling! Settled is a powerful feeling. Last year my word was together. And I travelled and was together with special people as much as possible. It was what that year needed and I pulled myself together in hard times, I put together my ideas. This year I am settled in my ideas and excited to show the world who I am settled in to be. I have learnt to be settled in calm and boredom. Settled at home and with family. Settled in what my offerings are. The path is clear and grounded. Feeling settled is a powerful thing if it is a new feeling to have and I am enjoying it.

Pausing from decluttering today. Some people ask how I got the name Katcher Guidance. It was formed the day I found out my best friend was diagnosed with Early On Set Alzheimer’s. Our journey together was full of laughter, authenticity, joy and courage. Even on the hard days. A legacy the name carries on. I show up to support clients, to help ease the journey, so the name fit. And today feels a little heavy and I know it’s ok but not ok. And I will breathe, pause, and find joy. Opposites attract where there is heavy there is light. A lesson through all this - I can fall apart and get back up in a moment of time.

Today I am going to keep on with emails as this can be a big task. I like to break it down over time. Also remember to rest and take breaks. If you don’t have emails to purge relax this Sunday or remove one thing from the house you no longer need (recycling to the depot, or throw out old mismatched socks) Progress is key this is not a race.

30 Days of Decluttering is the start.

After personal and professional experience downsizing seniors and families. I have noticed this is lifestyle progress. What you do now helps your calm and your families peace in the future. So 30 days is awareness, learning and I am her for encouragement. As at different stages of life decluttering will be different.

The stage with kids - toys, paper, art, memories, photos, out grown clothes and shoes are all continuous.

The empty nester stage - what to keep, let go of, what to change or keep the same.

The downsizing from family home to condo, assisted living, or long term care with dignity and choice.

The estate clearing we all want it to be easier for our families but we don’t always know how to start and prepare.

These are just a few examples of change where decluttering looks different. I am here to Katch you. To guide you. To be there along side the journey at every stage.
