Introducing compassionate, fun loving, inspiring Laurie – Yoga and Movement instructor ✨💫
Laurie has had a lifelong passion for movement. In her 20s and 30s, she was a BCRPA Fitness to Music instructor, teaching step aerobics and cardio kickboxing, and later led circuit and weight training classes. Today, she teaches chair yoga and drumming on the exercise ball to upbeat music, bringing fun, rhythm, and mindful movement into her classes.
Five years ago, Laurie discovered yoga during a pivotal time in her life, and it quickly became a practice that grounded her and improved her health both mentally and physically. With nearly 300 hours of yoga training, including immersive Yin studies in Bali and several chair yoga certifications, what she once thought might be her “retirement gig” has turned into teaching two to three lunchtime classes each week while working as an employment counsellor.
She is passionate about helping others move mindfully, build strength, and create a more functional, joyful life through yoga and movement.
We love having Laurie onboard as a vital and motivated instructor. Her calm demeanour and kind heart is a pleasure to have around. She is always willing to learn, grow, and is so beautifully passionate about teaching and helping others. Thanks for all you bring to the table ❤️
You can catch Laurie at our Strength For Life sessions, teaching chair yoga and she is often subs the Evening Yoga Monday 5:15 and Wednesday’s 5:30 as well:)
Hopefully soon we will get her on the schedule to teach Ball Drumming classes once again! They are a blast:) So stay tuned for that:)
