Honouring Our Heroes – The Mayfield’s Poppy Project 🌺

This Remembrance Day, our residents, team members, and local students came together for a truly meaningful initiative, The Mayfield Poppy Project.

Each poppy in our display carries a personal message of gratitude, written by residents, staff, and community members to honour the brave men and women who served our country. Together, these heartfelt messages create a powerful tribute that unites generations in remembrance.

We invite you to stop by The Mayfield Retirement Residence at 248 Park St W, Prescott to view our display and take a quiet moment to reflect. On Remembrance Day, guests are welcome to join us for complimentary hot chocolate and cookies as we gather to remember and give thanks.

This Thursday afternoon, our residents enjoyed wonderful live music performed by Glenn Libby! It’s always such a treat to have Glenn join us and volunteer his time. The residents absolutely love his performances ,singing along, clapping, and smiling from ear to ear. 💕

This past weekend, on September 27th, we hosted a wonderful Vendors Harvest Market here at Mayfield! 🍂 Our residents and their families had the chance to browse and shop from many beautiful local vendors, and it turned into a truly successful and joy-filled day under the sunshine.

A special kudos to our resident, Mrs. Denise Gauthier, who showcased her amazing talent by creating quilted pillow and quilt , cozy headbands, and scarves. Denise sold raffle tickets for her creations and raised an incredible $125 in support of our local children’s breakfast program. 🧵💛 Congratulations to the lucky winners who were thrilled with their prizes!

We are so grateful to all the local vendors who joined us and to our culinary department for preparing a delicious lunch that everyone enjoyed.

This Tuesday, we once again had the great privilege of sponsoring the monthly Toonie Tuesday at the Walker House in Prescott! 🍲🥪

Maria from our Mayfield kitchen prepared a delicious homemade minestrone soup along with fresh sandwiches for their members to enjoy. 💛

If you haven’t already, the Walker House is such a wonderful community — and we are truly honored to be able to support their monthly luncheons.

Surrounded by their families and friends, these lovely ladies enjoyed special surprises, laughter, and memorable moments. We are so very lucky to have such kind and inspiring people in our Mayfield family. 💖
