Prince Albert Early Childhood Intervention Program PAECIP supports families with children from birth to school going age, who are at risk for delay, or

PAECIP services families in Prince Albert and surrounding areas. We are part of a provincial wide program that supports families with children who have different needs. Our Early Interventionists offer home visits (during Covid we offer virtual contact) and personalized support for you and your child. We provide screening and on going assessment of your child's progress and will assist with ideas for activities that promote your child's development. PAECIP has a toy and book lending library for our registered families and can offer information on services and supports available to you in the community.

Magnet tiles let kids play freely while learning. Whether they're building intricate structures or simply exploring how magnets attract and repel, children engage in hands-on learning that fosters curiosity and problem-solving skills. This playful experimentation not only strengthens their understanding of scientific concepts but also builds confidence as they discover and innovate.

Going along for the ride, and letting kids lead play can be a delightful and insightful experience for both children and adults. When children are given the freedom to direct their own playtime, they often reveal a world of imagination and creativity that adults may have forgotten. It encourages them to explore their interests, solve problems, and develop social skills in a natural and enjoyable way.

Simple ideas include playing “Simon Says” with actions like hopping and spinning, or having a dance party featuring upbeat music. With a little creativity, a cold day can turn into a fun and active experience at home!

For the game in the picture below, our focus was on releasing the dinosaurs one at a time onto the bowls. Throughout the play, we used prepositions such as “up,” “down,” “on,” and “under.” For example, we might say, “The dinosaur is on the bowl.”
