✨ Midweek Check-In: Are You Pushing… or Listening?

It’s Wednesday.

Right about now, many people start noticing the tension building.

Tight shoulders.
Shallow breathing.
A nervous system running three steps ahead of the body.

And the common response?

Push harder.
Drink more coffee.
Ignore the signals.

But here’s the truth most people miss:

Your body isn’t failing you.
It’s communicating with you.

Fatigue, irritability, emotional overwhelm, brain fog, even headaches are often signs that your nervous system needs regulation, not more pressure.

When we ignore those signals long enough, the body eventually forces us to stop.

But we can interrupt that cycle with something very simple.

✨ Try this 2-minute reset right now:

1️⃣ Sit comfortably and place one hand on your heart and one on your belly.
2️⃣ Inhale slowly through the nose for 4 seconds.
3️⃣ Exhale slowly through the mouth for 6 seconds.
4️⃣ Let the shoulders soften as you breathe out.

Repeat for 6 breaths.

Longer exhales gently signal to the nervous system that it is safe to relax.

It’s a small shift, but the body responds quickly when we give it space.

And sometimes that pause is all we need to move through the rest of the week with more clarity and calm.

✨ If you’re craving deeper rest and nervous system support, follow along here for gentle practices, breathwork, meditation, and reminders to slow down.

And tell me in the comments…

How is your nervous system feeling today?

✨ Sacred Rest | Yoga Nidra & Meditation
Sunday Evenings • 7 PM PST • Live on Zoom • Replay Access

This is not a yoga class.

This is a return to stillness.

On Sunday evenings, you are invited into a deeply guided Yoga Nidra and meditation experience designed to soothe the nervous system, quiet the mind, and restore the body at a profound level.

Yoga Nidra, often called yogic sleep, is a guided meditation practice where you rest comfortably while being gently led into a state between wakefulness and sleep. The body deeply relaxes while the mind remains softly aware, allowing profound nervous system repair and integration.

There is nothing to perform.
Nothing to achieve.
Nowhere to go.

You may join from your bed, your mat, or your favorite quiet corner. Cameras off. Lights low. Fully supported.

This space is especially supportive if you are:
🌙 feeling tired but wired
🌙 carrying stress in the body
🌙 navigating overwhelm or burnout
🌙 longing for true, intentional rest

Each session is held live on Zoom and open to participants anywhere in the world.

Let Sunday night become your ritual of return.

✨ Arrive softly
✨ Rest deeply
✨ Begin the week regulated and restored

Forgiveness is often misunderstood.

It is not about saying what happened was okay.
It is not about forgetting.
And it is not about letting someone back into your life.

Forgiveness is the moment your body stops carrying what your heart was never meant to hold.

So many of us are still responding to old moments
old hurts
old versions of ourselves

The nervous system remembers.
The body remembers.
Even when the mind says, “I’m over it.”

In my work, I often see that true softening begins when we gently acknowledge what is still stored within us.

Not by forcing it away.
Not by spiritually bypassing it.
But by meeting it with awareness.

✨ This is where real forgiveness begins.

Sometimes forgiveness looks like:

• feeling the grief that was never fully felt
• releasing the grip of an old story
• thanking the experience for what it revealed
• choosing not to carry it forward in the same way

When we soften the body and quiet the mind, something powerful happens.

We create space.

Space for the breath.
Space for compassion.
Space for a different response the next time we are triggered.

This is the deeper work of practice.
Not becoming someone new.

But gently releasing what was never truly ours to carry.

🐉✨ Dragon Pose

If you spend a lot of time sitting, driving, or working at a desk, this pose can feel like medicine for the body.

Dragon Pose is a deep, grounded hip opener that gently targets the hip flexors, quads, and groin while inviting patience and stillness.

In Yin, we’re not forcing depth.
We’re allowing time and gravity to do the work.

🌿 Benefits
• Releases tight hips and hip flexors
• Helps counteract long periods of sitting
• Supports low back comfort by creating space through the front of the body
• Encourages steady breath and nervous system down-regulation

🌙 How to Practice
1. Step one foot forward into a low lunge.
2. Lower your back knee to the mat.
3. Place hands on blocks or the floor for support.
4. Soften your effort and stay for 2–4 minutes on each side.
5. Ease out slowly and pause before switching sides.

✨ Teacher Tip
If sensation feels sharp or pinchy in the front knee or hip, add height under your hands or slide the front foot forward slightly.

Yin isn’t about intensity. It’s about staying present with what you feel.

💬 Have you tried Dragon Pose before? How does it feel in your body?

Save this post to come back to during your next practice.

If today feels heavier than you expected, you’re not alone.

Holidays can be beautiful.
And they can also feel surprisingly tender.

Not because anything is wrong right now, but because certain days tend to stir things we don’t always expect.

Memories of people we miss.
Pressure around money or expectations.
Comparison.
Old stories about where we thought we would be by now.

Sometimes the nervous system remembers before the mind catches up.
A date on the calendar can quietly awaken grief, stress, longing, or tenderness that lives beneath the surface.

If today feels a little louder inside your body, you are not doing life wrong.

Pause for a moment.

Soften your breath.
Unclench your jaw.
Place a hand on your heart or your belly and simply notice that you are here.

You don’t need to force joy.
You don’t need to push through.

You are allowed to meet yourself exactly where you are.

And sometimes, moving gently with yourself is the most loving thing you can do.

With care,

It’s Friday.

And you’re exhausted…
but not from effort.

You’re tired from holding it together.
From being the calm one.
From managing everyone else’s emotions.
From pushing through when your body asked you to slow down.

Some people don’t need more productivity.

They need permission to exhale.

If you notice that you:
• feel wired at night but drained all day
• can’t “turn off” even when nothing is wrong
• crash the moment you finally stop
• carry tension in your jaw, shoulders, or belly

That’s not weakness.
That’s a nervous system that hasn’t had a safe landing in a while.

This is the work I do.

Not just yoga poses.
Not just stretching.

A space where your body can soften without performing.

If this feels like it’s about you…
come closer.

You might need rest more than you think.

For most of my life, I thought I was lazy.

But… for most of my life, I lived in environments where my nervous system learned that shutting down was the safest way to cope.

So that became my pattern.

When things felt overwhelming, I didn’t push through.
I froze.

The house would pile up.
Life would pile up.
And I couldn’t understand why I couldn’t “just get up and do it” like everyone else seemed to.

I thought I was failing as a woman.
As a mom.
As a partner.

But I wasn’t lazy.

I was living in a nervous system stuck in freeze.

And eventually, my body started shutting down too.
One illness turned into another.
Until I realized something had to change.

That change didn’t start with motivation.
It started with learning how to feel safe in my own body.

Through food.
Through leaving unhealthy relationships.
Through breath.
Through stillness.
Through learning how to rest without guilt.

And something beautiful happened.

When I began to love myself and create safety inside, the outside of my life began to change too.

The chaos stopped sticking.
The right people stayed.
The wrong ones faded away.

This is how I got here.

Not from mastering poses.
But from healing a nervous system that had been in survival mode for decades.

Now this is what I teach.

How to rest.
How to regulate.
How to come home to yourself.

Because if you feel wired, tired, overwhelmed, or frozen…

You are not broken.
You are not lazy.

Your nervous system just needs a way back to safety.

And there is a way back.

Through breath.
Through practice.
Through rest.

May you feel safe, loved, and at home in your body.

I know you think you’re behind in life.
Behind in your goals.
Behind in your career.
Behind compared to everyone you see online.

But what if… you’re not behind?

What if you’re just in the quiet chapter before everything starts making sense?

The chapter where you’re building strength no one can see yet.
The chapter where you’re learning lessons that will make future-you unstoppable.

You’re not late.
You’re not failing.
You’re not wasting time.

You’re becoming.

And one day you’re going to look back at this version of you —
the tired one, the doubting one, the trying-even-when-it’s-hard one —
and you’re going to be so proud you didn’t give up here.

So if today feels slow…
if progress feels invisible…
if you feel like you should be further…

Take a breath.

You’re exactly where you need to be.”
