Here is a topic I stumbled upon. Have you checked your child's shoes or it may be yours. You should notice one of the heels to be more worn down. Which is usually the opposite side of your shunt. For me it is my left. Being that I walk with a quick pace if my left foot catches something like a raised section of sidewalk I am going for a FALL. I take to the street beside the sidewalk now. My shunt is on the right side which makes your leftside weaker as well as my left eye. On my bad days I will walk slower (I TRY) This isn't the case for everyone as everyone is unique. How many will be checking now. I like to receive shunted feedback on your results. 🙂 - Hydropioneer

How language comprehension can be affected by hydrocephalus. A child or young person with hydrocephalus may have sensory difficulties with hearing and sight for example. Or they may have learning difficulties. These issues can have an impact on learning and using language.

Words are a series of sounds or symbols that the brain needs to make sense of. Learning what sounds mean is thought to start before we are born. Children learn much of the language they will use during their lives in the first five years of life, although it doesn’t stop there.
