So, you’re pregnant, now what?

Can you still exercise? Yes. Movement is key to a healthy pregnancy and potentially a less stressful labour and delivery. If you were working out before pregnancy, continue doing what you’re doing and listen to your body. As long as there’s no issues that your doctor is concerned about, you are good to go!

What do you eat? Your microbiome should be generally healthy as the state of your own gut will transfer to your baby! How cool is that? Make sure you eat good whole foods, limit processed foods and seed oils. I personally have eaten sushi and lunch meat while pregnant with no issues, but you can trust your own gut with that!

How do you relax? Whether it’s your first child or your fifth child, make sure you take some time to yourself. Meditate. Yoga. Silence. Whatever your form of self-care is, make sure you prioritize a few minutes a day!

How do you prepare your body for the best birth possible? Trust your body and trust your baby. Women have been giving birth naturally much longer than hospitals and western medicine have been mainstream. Yes, there’s a time and a place when medical intervention may be needed, but overall, our bodies are miraculous and they know what to do.

Will life ever be the same? No, and thats a good thing!! Children are such a blessing, they change your lives and allow growth that you never thought possible, enjoy ❤️

The Prenatal Pause: Connecting Woman to Womb

I am hosting a FREE half hour class on Sunday, March 29 @ 7pm via Zoom. Please have a yoga mat, 2 pillows, and a blanket handy.

The Prenatal Pause - Free Workshop March 29, 2026

This free class will highlight what my 4 week series (The Prenatal Pause - Connecting Woman to Womb) is all about. You will receive a mini manual covering the topics we go over, different meditations, breathing techniques, as well as yoga poses to help with pregnancy and birth prep. Whether you sign up for the series or not, the manual is yours to keep with a replay link to the class.

If you enjoy the workshop and sign up for the series, you will enjoy a class every Sunday at 7 PM for half an hour via Zoom. Again, if you cannot make the live call, you will get free replays of all 4 classes with lifetime access to the links.

The 4 week series starts April 12 and runs through to May 3. This is a great way to learn some different techniques that you can use in your labour and delivery, as well as really connecting you to your body and your baby during pregnancy 🤰

It’s not about looking younger, it’s about looking good for your age 🤔

It’s not about being vain, it’s about doing what makes you feel confident in your body 💖

It’s not about pleasing other people, it’s about creating happiness within your own body, both inside and outside 🙌

We all have things that we do that make us feel better, whether it’s working out, dying our hair, wearing makeup, dressing up… and there’s always going to be people out there that don’t understand it, and find a reason to disagree with your choices, but you kindly tell them to kick rocks (or calm down and take a yoga class) and you continue to do what makes you happy!

Quick intro for the newbies!

I was an esthetician for over 20 years specializing in massage and skin care. I gave it up a few years ago to make the transition into yoga, fitness, and finding a more holistic approach to navigating a healthy lifestyle while still looking and feeling good.

I have 3 children (homeschooled) and one on the way, and a wonderful husband who I grew up with in BC. We traded in the ocean and the forest to fulfill our homesteading dreams 🐮 🐔 🐷

Although I will work with all types of people, I thoroughly enjoy working with mothers to provide them with the knowledge and support to reclaim their confidence at any postpartum stage ❤️

I am not everyone’s cup of tea when it comes to politics, so I try not to get too political on this page but sometimes it just happens 😅

I love life and find the good in bad situations and I encourage you to do the same!

5 random facts about me:
1. I never leave the house without earrings
2. I don’t believe in dinosaurs
3. I found out when I was 13 that I had an older half brother who lived 10 minutes away from me
4. I am a flat earther
5. I will always choose dark chocolate over vanilla

5th pregnancy and I finally get a compliment on my labs 🙌

I’ve never had ‘bad’ lab results before, but I certainly never got an eyebrow raising ‘whoa, look at those iron levels’ reaction!

I thank my and eating habits for such good numbers 🥩

If the thought of carnivore scares you, start with animal based, you still have some natural sweeteners and fruit and it’s easier adapt with more options to start. Some people can thrive on an AB diet, as for the rest of us, food noise is a real thing.

Personal Trainer is now added to my resume of Pilates, Yoga and Aerobics Instructor.

Life sure can change when you prioritize your health 🙌

Over the last few years I gave up drinking, lost over 100 pounds, and completely transformed the way I look at food. Nothing is impossible ❤️

Walking:

One of the most underrated forms of exercise in my opinion!

Walking outside challenges your body with different types of ground covering and it nourishes your body with fresh air plus natural vitamin D ☀️

Then there’s the convenience of a treadmill, so you can walk indoors if you get cold winters or just aren’t comfortable enough walking outside yet. You get the predictability (or challenge) with your speed and incline that you get to set, and you still move your body!

Walking is something that is in our DNA, our ancestors walked and ran to hunter and gather. They didn’t have the option to sit around and do nothing, and neither should you!

There’s no excuse not to walk 😅

Hi everyone! I am Vanessa, a 30yr female, and also a graduate of the prestigious Blanche MacDonald Center in Vancouver, BC. Having 9 years under my belt, I always find one thing, my knowledge and my passion keep growing more and more each and every day in this industry. I don't just have a job, I have a career. There's nothing I love more than to be a positive part of my clients busy schedules...whether it's a simple eyebrow wax or a relaxing massage, I guarantee that your service and time with me will be the highlight of your day. I am still open to taking new clients, and am also very flexible with my schedule to accommodate each and every one of your needs :)
