We have some exciting news to share!

Social Shift is expanding within the space you already know and feel comfortable in. We’re adding additional rooms on the main floor of our current building to support the continued growth of our team and the needs of our community.

For our clients, this won’t mean big changes to your experience. You’ll still be coming to the same familiar location, with the same welcoming environment and therapists you trust. What this expansion does mean is that we’re able to create more space for care, connection, and access to services.

As more people in our community reach out for support, we want to make sure we can meet that need in a way that still feels intentional, personal, and aligned with how we do things here.

We’re really excited about this next step and grateful to continue growing in a way that allows us to support more people, while staying grounded in what matters most.

We’re still thinking about our last Mental Health Professionals Meet Up… the conversations were fun, the energy was great, and the connections that came out of it were so helpful!

We’re so excited to be hosting another one this week on Thursday, April 2nd 🥳

There is so much value in expanding our network and connecting more to the amazing professionals working in mental health in our community.

We’ll have a few light activities, space to connect, and we’ll be opening up conversation around what you actually want to see more of in our field… trainings, workshops, events, and ways to better support our community.

Today feels like a good day to acknowledge the women who make Social Shift what it is... even if it is a few days after we intended... to us, every day is Women’s Day.

Social Shift is a female-owned practice, and the majority of our team are women who show up every day to support others through some of the hardest and most meaningful moments of their lives. That’s something we don’t take lightly.

Behind the scenes, there’s a lot of encouragement, collaboration, and of course, laughter and silliness.

We are incredibly grateful for the women on this team and for the community of women who trust us with their stories.

And just as important to us, the space we’ve built is inclusive. Women supporting women matters, but so does creating a community where everyone feels welcome, respected, and valued.

Today we’re celebrating the strength, care, and connection that women bring into the world every day.

📚 TEACHERS! We will see you at Teachers’ Convention Feb 19 & 20!📚

Come find the Social Shift team at our booth, and leading some sessions! 👋

We’ll have therapists on site to chat about how we support educators with burnout, overwhelm, ADHD, nervous system regulation, and prevention work that goes beyond the couch.

We’ll also have our notepads for sale (because teachers + good lists = magic ✨) and be sharing a booth space with who will have some fun things to check out as well!

✨ Let’s check in ✨

The world feels a little heavy right now.
And a lot of us are quietly carrying more than usual.

So, today feels like a good day to slow down and ask a simple question we don’t ask ourselves often enough:
How am I actually doing?

Not a quick “I’m fine” that we are so trained to say on autopilot.
Not the version we give when we’re trying to hold it together… let’s give ourselves the honest answer.

Life moves fast, and it’s easy to just keep pushing through stress, worry, and exhaustion without ever really pausing to notice what we need. It’s another way we are conditioned to function in such a chaotic environment. When you can create space to pause and check in, you can start to build more awareness to your needs.

And while you’re thinking about that, here’s another gentle nudge.
When was the last time you really checked in with someone you care about? 💕

Not as small talk, like … ‘How are you?’ ‘Good! How are you?’ We know that song off by heart! It’s not always an accurate reflection of what’s going on with the people we love most.

Let’s check in, in a way that says, “I see you. I care about you. I’m here.”

Right now especially, we need each other.
Kindness and compassion go a long way when things feel uncertain and overwhelming.

Therapy can be one place to bring the heavy stuff.
And everyday check-ins are how we remind each other that we don’t have to do life alone.

So today, take a minute.
Pause.
Check in with yourself.
And then maybe reach out to someone who could use a little extra support or someone to show they care.

Small moments of care can make a bigger difference than we realize. 💛

We want to take a moment to spotlight one of the incredible therapists in our collective. Alana is a Registered Master Social Worker here at Social Shift, and we are genuinely so honoured to have her in our collective!

Alana brings a grounded, human, real-life approach to any space she enters, including therapy. She works with new parents figuring out the chaos of this season, adults navigating ADHD, and people carrying grief, trauma, or burnout. Her style is warm and practical, and she has a way of making hard conversations feel a little more comfortable.

She has many certifications and trainings that add to her expertise, but what clients will also notice is her compassion, her humour, and how easy she is to talk to. Alana understands the mess that life can be at times, and she creates a space where you don’t have to figure it out alone.

Her sessions are collaborative, down to earth, and focused on helping you feel supported, understood, and more steady as you move forward.
