Long before the Recovery Lab ninja era…

These little humans were innocent, adorable, and had no idea they’d grow up to become the team keeping Recovery Lab running.

We love a good dealer’s choice treatment… but the best sessions always start with a little communication.

Let us know what’s bothering you, how much pressure you like, if you’re feeling chatty — or if you’re just here to enjoy a quiet nap on the table.

We’re good… but we’re not mind readers. 😉

A little guidance helps us keep your session exactly how you want it — so your time here stays your time.

Be honest… are you a “whatever” client? Or do you come in with a full list?

Strong women build strong communities.

Recovery Lab is fortunate to have an incredible group of women who bring skill, compassion, and strength into this space every single day.

Part of our amazing team, they help create the supportive, collaborative environment our clients know and trust.

They’re practitioners, mentors, leaders, mothers, daughters, sisters, and friends. Women who show up for each other and for every person who walks through our doors.

The hands behind the treatments.
The hearts behind the care.
A powerful part of what makes Recovery Lab what it is.

And while a few amazing faces are missing from these photos, they’re just as much a part of the team and community we’ve built together.

Today we celebrate the women of Recovery Lab and all the women who inspire us every day.

Happy International Women’s Day 💜

Brittany is officially a Registered Massage Therapist!

Before stepping into the treatment room, Brittany spent years working in the trades — including carpentry, landscaping, and electrical work — giving her a firsthand understanding of the physical toll demanding jobs can take on the body. She also brings an athletic background, having competed in national track competitions and trained in marksmanship through cadets.

That mix of real-world physical work and performance training shapes how she approaches treatment: practical, focused, and tailored to help clients move better and feel better.

Outside the clinic, you’ll likely find her hiking, camping, or exploring the outdoors — the same grounded energy she brings into every session.

✨ Her schedule is now live!

Appointments are currently available on a pay upfront & submit basis while her insurance portals finish being set up.

If you’ve been waiting for an opening with Brittany, now’s your chance.

Book online through our website or Jane.

From student grasshopper to RMT ninja 🥷

We’re celebrating Jared this week as he officially graduates and joins the team as a Registered Massage Therapist!

Jared has a strong interest in deep tissue techniques and Lower Body RAPID, helping clients reduce pain, improve mobility, and get back to moving comfortably.

Before massage therapy, Jared worked in oil & gas drilling, farming, and forestry firefighting, so he understands firsthand what physical work does to the body and how important recovery really is.

📅 His online booking is now open and he’s welcoming new clients.

Note: While his registration is complete, his insurance portals are still being finalized. Appointments will be pay upfront with receipt for client submission until those are active.

Welcome to the team, Jared 👊

Cold exposure isn’t one-size-fits-all.
Especially for women.

Our hormones shift throughout the month, which can influence things like stress tolerance, body temperature regulation and overall energy levels.

That means the way we approach cold exposure can shift too.

Some days your body may feel strong and ready to push a little longer in the cold.
Other days it may benefit more from shorter sessions focused on breathwork and calming the nervous system.

Both approaches have value.

One of the things I appreciate about the education from the Wim Hof Method is the reminder that cold isn’t just about toughness.

It’s a tool.

A tool for building resilience.
A tool for recovery.
A tool for learning how your body responds to stress.

And sometimes the biggest benefit is simply slowing down, breathing, and listening to what your body is telling you.

“The cold is a powerful teacher.” — Wim Hof

🎾 Pickleball Edition
We listen. We treat. We do not judge.

You said it was just one game.
It turned into a full afternoon.

You don’t warm up.
You don’t cool down.
You promise you’ll stretch later.

You play 3–4 times a week.
You haven’t strength trained in years.

You call it “tight.”
But your shoulder, knee, or Achilles has been flaring for months.

And your spouse is starting to suspect pickleball is your real long-term commitment.

We get it. The hype is real.

That’s where Allie comes in.

✔️ She assesses your joint mechanics and mobility
✔️ Identifies what’s actually driving the pain
✔️ Uses hands-on treatment to calm irritated tissue
✔️ Builds strength and stability so you stop re-aggravating it
✔️ Keeps you in the game longer (and slightly easier to live with at home)

Active adults are going to be active.
Our job is to make sure your body can handle it.

Book in with Allie and let’s keep you on the court.

Not all tightness is a muscle problem.

Sometimes it’s restricted rib movement affecting your breath.
Sometimes it’s a hip that isn’t rotating well, so your low back keeps compensating.
Sometimes it’s limited ankle mobility quietly changing how you load your entire body.

Manual Osteopathy looks at those relationships — not just where it hurts.

A session may include:
• Abdominal work to support lymphatic flow and diaphragm function
• Hip and lumbar mobilization
• Oblique and rib release
• Ankle and joint mobility

Gentle techniques. Precise assessment. Whole-body integration.

If you’ve been doing “all the right things” but still feel like something isn’t fully resolving, it may be less about intensity — and more about approach.

That sharp, stabbing heel pain with your first steps in the morning?
That’s not just “tight calves.”

Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common foot complaints we see — and while massage can absolutely help relieve tension, long-term recovery means addressing why the strain is happening in the first place.

Physiotherapy looks at:
✔️ Ankle mobility
✔️ Calf tension
✔️ Foot strength
✔️ Hip & knee mechanics
✔️ Load management

Because pain in the heel doesn’t always start in the heel.

Massage supports the tissue.
Physio restores the mechanics.
Together? That’s where real progress happens.

We break down the full recovery approach — including at-home strategies and prevention tips — in our latest blog.

Recovery Massage or Deep Tissue?

This is one of the most common questions we get — and the one that causes the most confusion when booking.

Deeper pressure doesn’t always mean better results.

Recovery Massage is where relaxation meets therapeutic care. It’s customizable, adaptable, and often the best place to start if you’re dealing with everyday wear and tear, lingering aches, or you’re unsure how much pressure your body actually needs.

Deep Tissue Massage is slower, deeper, and more specific. It’s designed for chronic tension and deeper muscle restrictions and can feel intense — not because it’s aggressive, but because it’s intentional.

Both are therapeutic.
They just serve different purposes.

Swipe through to understand the difference so you can book what your body actually needs — not just what sounds tougher.

Save this for your next booking, and if you’re ever unsure, our team is happy to help 🤍

Reiki therapy is often misunderstood — but when offered intentionally, it can be one of the most calming and restorative treatments available.

At Recovery Lab, Reiki is practiced in the traditional Usui Shiki Ryoho system and delivered by practitioners with advanced training and extensive hands-on experience. Sessions use gentle, light touch to support nervous system regulation, relaxation, and whole-body balance.

✨ Reiki Therapy (60 min)
A stand-alone session focused on deep rest, regulation, and gentle support.

👐 Reiki + Massage Therapy (90 min)
An integrative treatment combining therapeutic massage with Reiki for both physical and nervous system care.
