We’re SO excited to share that Shemiya Ruud will be joining us at Essentially Balanced beginning in March.

Shemiya supports women who feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stretched thin after years of caring for everyone else. She works with women navigating parenting, relationships, major life transitions, perimenopause/menopause, caregiver burnout, and stress—helping them feel calmer, grounded, and more like themselves again.

With a background in Marriage and Family Therapy, Shemiya focuses on emotional well-being and self-care so clients can move through life with more clarity, energy, and resilience.

She supports women through challenges like new parenthood, empty nesting, perimenopause and menopause, caregiver burnout, and relationship stress.

If you feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected—maybe after years of putting others first—Shemiya can help you understand how stress and past experiences affect your emotions, body, and relationships. This work helps you feel calmer, more grounded, and more like yourself again.

With an extensive background in Marriage and Family Therapy, Shemiya helps women focus on their own well-being and self-care. By taking care of themselves first, clients often find they have more energy, clarity, and resilience to navigate relationships, parenting, and all of life’s challenges and transitions.

✨ Appointment & Cancellation Policy Reminder
Essentially Balanced Wellness

To help us respect everyone’s time and support our practitioners, we kindly ask all clients to review our cancellation and missed appointment policy:

🕒 Late Cancellations (within 24 hours):
• Appointments must be cancelled or changed at least 24 hours in advance
• Cancellations within 24 hours will be charged 50% of the service cost
• Late cancellation fees are the client’s responsibility and cannot be billed to insurance

🤍 Emergencies:
We understand that emergencies happen. If something unforeseen arises (such as sudden illness or a family emergency), please reach out so we can address your situation personally.

🤒 Illness Policy:
For the health and safety of our clients and practitioners, we cannot accept appointments if you are feeling unwell.
• Please reschedule once you are healthy or symptom-free for at least 5 days
• A 50% fee will apply if you cancel due to illness within 4 hours of your appointment

🚫 Missed Appointments / No-Shows:
• Missed appointments prevent us from offering that time to other clients
• Our practitioners are independent contractors and are only compensated when services are provided
• A 50% fee will be charged for missed appointments
• Missed appointment fees cannot be billed to insurance
