WE’RE BACK ONLINE 🤍

I want to start by saying thank you.
To everyone who reached out with your love, support, and wisdom during the fraud situation -I have learned so much from you and this experience 🫶

So many of you shared insights on protecting the business, restructuring, and preventing things like this moving forward. That information has been invaluable, and I’m deeply grateful.

With that being said, our website is now back up and running.

While I’m still taking time to reassess how Isla Rae will look in the future, I do know we’ve decided to reopen the website and we will be attending SASK Maker Sale.

I’ve had so many beautiful new pieces I’ve been wanting to share with you. I had been busy designing, preparing, doing a photoshoot and planning a collection launch leading up to the fraud. It will feel good to bring them to this market to connect in person, to see familiar faces, and to let these pieces find their homes.

The future may look different.
But for now-we are open 🤍

Thank you to everyone who has reached out with support. 🤍

I’ve had a lot of questions, so I want to share some context. The screenshots in this post are examples of what comes through daily- everyday at all hours, multiple times a day, on my personal phone, DMs, email, website, and in person. Donation requests, outreach, discount and bartering proposals.

This isn’t meant to single anyone out. It’s not about one person or one moment -it’s about a long-standing pattern.

In the 9 hours leading up to discovering our business account had been frauded, I had loaned money, opened donation emails, and responded to discount and outreach messages. This is only a fraction of what normally comes in.

When something like fraud happens, you replay everything. Was it something I opened? Something I responded to? A vulnerability in the system or worse me? We still don’t know. But when your inbox is constantly full of unfamiliar outreach, every click and call carries risk.

Looking back, I can see how much I lowered my own walls. I’ve always wanted to give and be generous, but without stronger structure, I blurred generosity with obligation.

When discounts are stacked or work is bartered for, it can quietly devalue the work and somewhere along the way, Isla Rae began to feel less like a structured business and more like a charity.

At the same time, I drifted. I shifted from being a jewelry maker to being a marketer- spending hours feeding the algorithm, building emails and websites, chasing growth and slowly stepped away from the parts I loved most.

For months, I’ve been trying to restructure. Fewer hours & stronger systems. And for the first time in five years, this month I paid myself a wage. The funds that were taken were meant to be that wage, which makes this especially heavy.

But there’s a strange clarity in watching something being broken down and maybe it’s the opportunity to rebuild in a way that feels aligned, stronger, with boundaries.

For peace of mind, our website remains secure and customer information has not been compromised.

For now, we remain paused as we realign and re-envision what comes next.

Running a heart-led business is beautiful… but lately it’s become a bit messy.

If I’m honest, the last season has been harder than I’ve let on. Burnout I can’t catch my breath from, decision fatigue and creativity that hasn’t flowed the way it once did. Trying to stay afloat while my personal life was drowning and revisiting the issue again and again.

ɪ ᴅɪᴅɴ’ᴛ ᴡᴀɴᴛ ᴛᴏ ʟᴇᴛ ᴀɴʏᴏɴᴇ ᴅᴏᴡɴ

I’ve listened to every one and tried to keep Isla Rae going when, deep down, I knew it needed a break. I’ve turned my back on my own intuition and now I can see that overriding that inner voice has cost me more than I realized.

When you build something meaningful and it begins to grow, people see it and not everyone who reaches for it does so in a way that honours it. It started far before the bank fraud I started saying yes when I meant no, small favours, tons of discounts, donations, putting out more at times than what was coming in, paying for contractual work that wasn’t fulfilled, barters and stretching myself thin in every direction just trying to be generous - it blurred boundaries and flexibility that slowly stretched beyond what’s healthy. Because I’m someone who genuinely wants to help, I often said yes when I should have said no.

For a while now I’ve been giving much more than receiving and pouring from an empty tank. I didn’t listen to my intuition when it first whispered that I needed to slow down. And now I’m kicking myself for trying to keep going and risk loosing all that Ive built.

So for now, I’m allowing this season to be what it is.

Under construction-
for as long as it takes- maybe a month possibly forever- Maybe to completely reimagine what this looks like or maybe to lovingly let it settle.

Our Amore bracelets are officially restocked after months of looking and testing the waters (literally) we sourced a better golden bead that’s water safe (because everyday jewelry should actually handle everyday life).

Here’s a little BTS how we slowly and intentionally make each one in our studio:

Kelsey starts by spinning every tiny 4mm golden bead onto the elastic cord.
Then I step in- Before I tie anything, I slide on the heart ♥️ because she always comes first.

I tie our special secure knot 🪢
Add the tiniest drop of glue
Give it a little wave to dry & trim the excess.
And carefully tuck the knot inside the heart bead so all you see is seamless gold.
Then she gets a full clean and polish before heading to you.

You are LOVING the new beads.
They’re already being scooped up again and I’m so happy we found the perfect one to make these babies water safe and full of love for you.

The ChatGbt trend- swipe, see and learn.

Leanne - the woman who makes meaning wearable- A storyteller who turns lived experiences into wearable art.
She wasn’t always confident- being told she wasn’t smart enough, too crazy, too fat and too much-she was underestimated- she underestimated herself.
Survived what could have broken her- she created hope, healing for others.

She makes jewelry the way some people write letters they never got to send (like the one in her dresser for her dad).
Each is a quiet anchor, a steady reminder of direction and a soft weight against the skin that says your still here and your doing great.
