Though Remembrance Day has passed, our respect and gratitude for Canada’s veterans and service members remain as strong as ever. Across Saskatchewan, St. John Ambulance volunteers supported local ceremonies, helping communities safely come together to honour the courage, sacrifice, and service of those who have served, and those who continue to serve, for peace and freedom.

Remembrance holds a special place in our organization’s history. From the Knights Hospitaller caring for the sick and wounded during the Crusades, to supporting soldiers on the battlefields of the World Wars, and continuing today, St. John Ambulance has stood alongside those in service and their communities for nearly a thousand years.

These photos show our volunteers from Regina, Saskatoon, Moose Jaw, and the Craik Legion placing wreaths, managing health concerns, and providing quiet support. Our teams are honoured to participate in Remembrance Day ceremonies across Saskatchewan, helping ensure every community can honour veterans with dignity and respect.

To all veterans and those who continue to serve: thank you for your service, your sacrifices, and the freedoms you protect. And to our volunteers: thank you for helping Saskatchewan remember, honour, and uphold the values that make Remembrance Day so meaningful.

Across Saskatchewan, St. John Ambulance volunteers proudly supported local Remembrance Day ceremonies—ensuring communities could gather safely to honour and remember.

As shown in these photos from our Saskatoon volunteer Medical First Responders, our teams were on the parade grounds, assisting participants, managing health concerns, and offering care whenever needed.

Your compassion, professionalism, and dedication truly make a difference. Thank you to all our volunteers for helping Saskatchewan commemorate this important day with safety, dignity, and respect.

St. John Ambulance Saskatchewan is deeply saddened by the loss of Dibs, one of our most beloved Therapy Dogs, whose joyful presence brought light and comfort to so many.

From his very first visit, Dibs had a gift for connection. With his signature smile, gentle spirit, and ever-wagging tail, he lifted hearts wherever he went, from the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital and Ronald McDonald House, to SHA vaccine clinics, and the PAWS Your Stress program at the University of Saskatchewan. He even participated in research at Royal University Hospital, proving that he could in fact reduce the stress and pain of patients in the Emergency department

Whether posing for photos with his signature grin or greeting everyone like an old friend, he quickly became known as one of our most photogenic Therapy Dogs (and he knew it, too). His goofy charm and camera-ready smile brightened every event he attended.

Together with his handler, Taunia, Dibs brought immeasurable comfort, laughter, and joy to our community. Their outstanding dedication was recently recognized with a Priory Vote of Thanks, one of the highest honours within St. John Ambulance.

We are forever grateful to Taunia and her family for sharing Dibs with us. His pawprints will remain on the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of meeting him.
