Today, the Province of Saskatchewan announced contracts with 19 Nurse Practitioners to help strengthen and expand access to primary care services. We are proud to share that three of these Nurse Practitioners are part of the NPower+ Health team. This partnership reflects our ongoing commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care and supporting the province’s efforts to improve timely access for communities across Saskatchewan. We look forward to continuing our work in delivering comprehensive and accessible healthcare services.

The Government of Saskatchewan has expanded the roles of nurse practitioners in recent years in response to a shortage of family doctors that has been ongoing since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Expanding access to primary health care means more Saskatchewan residents will have a primary care provider by 2028.

To mark this progress, Minister of Health Jeremy Cockrill and leaders from the SANP - Saskatchewan Association of Nurse Practitioners visited the NPower+ Health clinic in Regina to highlight the expansion of publicly funded nurse practitioner contracts across the province.

Every second counts when it comes to a stroke. Recognizing the signs early can make all the difference.
Remember F.A.S.T.:
F – Face: Is one side drooping?
A – Arms: Is one arm weak or numb?
S – Speech: Is speech slurred or strange?
T – Time: Call 911 immediately.

Acting quickly saves lives and reduces long-term damage. This World Stroke Day, let’s raise awareness, support prevention, and help those on the road to recovery.
