Summer is right around the corner and that means it’s almost time for camp! 🌞🍉💞

To help make camp more accessible for all families, we’re doing a little fundraising and partnering with 💐

Launching May 1st at 10:00am, Karyland Farms will be offering a summer-long flower subscription! There are limited spots, so if you’re interested, make sure to sign up early. All proceeds will go directly toward supporting families in our care 💘

You’ll get fresh, locally picked flowers every two weeks (8 bouquets total), and you can even choose to have them delivered right to your door by our kiddos 🤍🌷

What dreams are made of ❤️🚒

One of Eli’s favourite things is watching emergency vehicles respond, especially fire trucks. He loves all the different sirens, and you best believe he has the whole team recording every truck we see!

The were so accommodating during this tour and even played all the sirens just for him. He was smiling ear to ear and is already excited for the next one 🥹

Thank you Regina Fire for making this so special ❤️

Today is Autism Acceptance Day 🤍

A day to move beyond awareness and toward true acceptance.

True acceptance means celebrating people for who they are, not expecting them to fit into a mold created by society.

Autistic people deserve the same opportunities, experiences, and sense of belonging as anyone else.

Instead, we should be asking how we can create and adapt spaces to better meet the needs of others.

That’s what true acceptance looks like 🫶🏼

Happy International Women’s Day to some rockstar women. We are proud to be surrounded by such incredible women who make up this team. Today we celebrate us and everything we continue to build together. Whenever people try to silence us or stand in our way, we keep showing up, standing together, and taking up the space we deserve. As women, we will continue to be “too much,” and no one will stop us. Cheers to girlhood. 💗🌷🎀

Hey everyone!

I wanted to share some photos from camp last year as we start planning for another amazing summer! 🌞🐠🌷

We are growing our crew this year and working hard to make this the best, most inclusive summer yet. Our goal is for every child (of all abilities and support needs) to experience a camp that feels safe, fun, and built for them. 🙌🏼

To help make that possible, we’re doing some fundraising to reduce costs and increase accessibility for families. ❤️

One super easy way to support us is through SARCAN Drop & Go! ♻️

When you bring your bottles to SARCAN, enter our group phrase:

“2nd Home Summer Camp”

at the Drop & Go kiosk, and your refund will be donated directly to our camp. 🫶🏼

It costs nothing extra, takes just a couple minute, and helps make inclusive summer experiences possible for more kiddos! ‼️

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting our community and helping us make camp accessible for all! 💘

Happy Love Day from us to you. 💗

This community was built on love and continues to grow because of it. Every conversation, every moment of support, and every space we create is shaped by care and intention.

The care we provide is rooted in unconditional love, advocacy, and a commitment to showing up fully for the people you trust us with.

This is your reminder that you are deeply valued and you matter here. ❤️

Thanks for sharing this with me, Carmen ❤️

Many autistic children have difficulty with the word “no,” especially when they are already feeling overwhelmed or dysregulated. Hearing “no” can sometimes escalate emotions and trigger a fight or flight response in their nervous system.

As caregivers and parents, there are many moments throughout the day when limits are necessary. The goal is not to remove boundaries or allow children to do whatever they want, but to be intentional and mindful in how those limits are communicated.

Some important things to consider:

For non verbal and non speaking children, fewer words are often easier to process. Short, clear phrases can be more supportive than full sentences. For example, instead of saying “let’s do something else,” you can simply say “something else.”

Using shared language like “we” or “let’s” helps children understand that this is something we are doing together. It also reinforces that expectations, especially around safety, apply to everyone.

When safety is involved, clear and direct language is essential. Simple phrases like “all done” or “please be safe” help set firm boundaries without adding unnecessary confusion.

When children are not able to regulate on their own, the way we say no can help them feel safer in their body 💗

Hi everyone! 🤍

I wanted to take a moment to celebrate 1 year of 2nd Home For All 🥹🫶🏼

Around this time last year, I started posting about 2nd Home and putting my name out there, not really knowing where it would lead. In March I began providing care for someone in our community. From there, I continued to show up, one day at a time. Over the year, our clientele grew, and I was able to bring on an incredible team to help support kids, adults, and families in the community.

After supporting 20+ people, running a summer camp, moving twice, and participating in the Bump, Baby Expo, I’m so proud to say, we did it. None of this would have been possible without my team, support system, and the families who put their trust in me. That trust means everything, and I truly wouldn’t be where I am today without you.❤️

This past year, a huge amount of my time and energy went into building 2nd Home For All, while also working and being in nursing school. It definitely hasn’t been easy. What made it all possible was my deep love for this work and my commitment to doing it well. Of course, we are still growing and navigating hiccups as they come, and I’m so grateful for the patience, understanding, and support as we continue to learn and evolve together.

2nd Home was created because I saw a gap. Families needed support that felt safe, consistent, and human. They needed people who would take the time to build real relationships, honour individuality, and meet people where they are, not where a system or society expects them to be. My goal has always been to create a space where people feel seen, valued, and genuinely cared for, and where families feel supported, understood, and not alone.

As we move forward, our goal remains the same: to serve our community with quality, intentional care, while growing slowly and thoughtfully in a way that protects that standard. The why behind this work matters, and ensuring the care we provide continues to feel like home is so important to us.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything. Cheers to year 2! 🥹🤍
