Some individuals may avoid massage therapy because they think they'll have to leave their appointment covered in a greasy oil or lotion.

However, this doesn't have to be the case. Even if you have an allergy to a certain product or ingredient, other options are available.

Massage therapy can be performed with oil, lotion, gel, or none at all. Clothed massage is also an option.

While lotion is typically applied during massage to help the hands glide more smoothly across the skin, it is not a requirement to result in an effective treatment.

Go ahead and speak with your massage therapist before you get on the table to share your preferences!
