As the new year begins and winter settles in, we’re looking ahead to a quiet evening around the fire.

On Saturday, January 31, we’re hosting a Winter Fire Gathering on the Farm on the farm — a chance to slow down, warm up, and gather together as the light slowly begins to return. Inspired by Imbolc, it’s less about doing and more about being… noticing the light returning, even if just a little.

If you’ve been craving something quiet and grounding, this might be for you.

📅 Saturday, January 31
🕯️ 6:30–8:30 PM (drop in anytime)
🌦️ Weather backup: Sunday, February 1

Details are in the event page. We’d love to see you by the fire.

The animals don’t care about the rush of the season — and maybe that’s the lesson.

Merry Christmas from our little corner of the farm 🤍

As the year winds down and the barn grows a little quieter, we just want to pause and say thank you. Thank you for showing up, supporting small dreams, loving on our animals, sharing our posts, and being part of this growing community.

Your kindness, encouragement, and presence mean more than we can ever put into words. We’re so grateful for each of you and wish you a Christmas filled with warmth, peace, and simple joys.

From our hearts (and hooves) to yours — Merry Christmas ✨🎄

There’s something about Christmas Eve that calls for slowing down and warming our hands around a mug.
This simple hot chocolate mix is one of those little comforts we keep coming back to — easy to make, easy to love, and perfect for sharing.

Nothing fancy. Just cocoa, sugar, and a pinch of salt… made to be stirred into warm milk and enjoyed wherever the evening finds you.

Snowy or muddy, quiet or busy — I hope your mug is full tonight.

Marshmallows… or keep it simple?

Lately I’ve been revisiting some old-fashioned kitchen remedies — the kind made with what you already have on hand.
This fire cider honey caught my eye because it’s simple, shelf-stable, and doesn’t require weeks of infusing.

It’s a blend of raw honey and warming spices that many people keep on hand during the winter months. I’m planning to make a jar soon and thought I’d share in case you’d like to try it too.

Fire Cider Honey Recipe:

- 1 cup raw honey
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp dried lemon peel
- 1 tsp horseradish powder
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp ginger

Directions:

Stir everything together until smooth and well combined.
Store in a sealed jar in a cool cupboard or pantry.

How it’s commonly used:

Take by the spoonful
Or stir into warm (not hot) water, tea, or broth
(Hot water can reduce some of the beneficial properties of raw honey, so warm is best.)

I love remedies like this — simple, practical, and rooted in generations of kitchen wisdom.

If you make this, let me know how you use it… or if you have a favourite winter remedy of your own, I’d love to hear about it.
