There’s always one jar in our winter cupboard that gets used more than anything else.

Not because we’re sick.
Not because we need a “remedy.”
But because some winter days just call for something warm, bright, and comforting.

Lemon. Ginger. Honey.

A spoonful in tea when your throat feels scratchy.
A scoop into warm water on cold mornings.
A little stir after a heavy meal when everything feels sluggish.

It’s simple. Familiar. Gentle.
And somehow it always feels like exactly what you need.

This is one of those blends that isn’t meant for emergencies.
It’s meant for everyday winter living.

We keep a jar ready all season long. 🍯🍋

Because he was a real ham.

Valentine’s Day is coming up… and apparently I have very reasonable expectations. 😌🐔

Forget the flowers. Forget the chocolates.

Just build me a coop, bring home some chicks, and we’ll call it romance.

Honestly though… this is how farm girls measure love. 😂

Wiarton W***y says early spring is coming…

…and honestly, we are choosing to believe him with our whole hearts.

Ignore the snow. Ignore the ice. Ignore the fact that I’m still wearing three layers.

Spring. Is. Coming.

According to a groundhog. And that’s enough for us.

I’ve been thinking about something many of you have asked about over the past year…

Yoga on the farm. 🌿

We had one beautiful session here before, and the interest was incredible. Since then, people have continued to ask if we’ll ever do it again.

This year, I thought we’d try something a little different.

If you and 9 friends would love to experience a peaceful yoga session here on the farm — with the animals nearby, fresh country air, and space to truly breathe — I would be happy to organize it for you once the weather warms and the farm is at its best.

You gather your little yoga crew.
I’ll take care of the rest.

It could be a friends’ day out.
A birthday idea.
A moms’ morning.
A girls’ night.
Or just an excuse to slow down together under the sky.

Start chatting with your people now, and we’ll set your perfect warm-weather day together. 💛

It’s time for a little Chance update 🐴💛

Back in November, we shared that our big gentle guy was struggling with some breathing issues and losing weight despite everything we were trying. It’s been a slow road since then — full of small adjustments, watching closely, and learning as we go.

We were recently able to start him on a few supplements that were recommended to us, and we are finally seeing a bit of improvement. Not a dramatic change, but enough to tell us we’re moving in the right direction for him.

We’re also beginning to look into some additional therapies and alternative options to support his breathing and overall condition even more. With horses, especially ones as large as Chance, it’s often about layering support and giving their bodies time to respond.

We also want to say a very heartfelt thank you to a few of our followers who reached out after our last post and donated to help with his care. Because of your kindness, we were able to start these supports sooner than we otherwise could have. That generosity has made a real difference for him.

He’s still our curious, soft-hearted boy — just taking things one breath at a time.

We’ll keep sharing his progress as we go. Thank you for continuing to love him right along with us.

Even in the heart of winter, these two know how to pause.

A patch of snow, a low sun, and a few quiet rays to soak in.

A reminder from the ducks tonight: if the sun shows up, you show up too. 💛

Winter doesn’t mean rushing past the light.

This one’s been making the rounds in our kitchen lately — simple, warming, and easy to keep on hand during the winter months.

These ginger immunity shots came from a recipe shared by Vicki Brears, and I loved how straightforward it was. No fuss, just good ingredients simmered slow and tucked away for the days when you feel something coming on or need a little boost.

I tweaked nothing — just made it, strained it, and added a spoonful of honey when taking it (because… bitter 😂). Some folks freeze it in ice cube trays, others keep it in a jar in the fridge and take a small shot a day.

From the homestead, winter wellness isn’t about perfection or doing all the things.
It’s about having a few simple, nourishing staples ready when your body asks for them.

Thank you again, Vicki, for sharing this one with us 🤍
