Can I do SMP without shaving my hair?

It depends on how advanced the hair loss is.

When the crown has a wide bald area, like in this photo, SMP works best on a shaved scalp.
Why?
Because SMP creates the look of thousands of tiny hair follicles, and they must blend evenly across the scalp.
Long or surrounding hair can hide the area, but it cannot replace density where hair is truly gone.

In smaller thinning areas, we can sometimes do SMP between existing hair — but when the bald spot is large, shaving gives you the most natural, clean, and long-lasting result.

Real results come from honest assessment, not false promises.

As the year comes to an end, I’ve been reflecting on how much I’ve grown - both personally and in the career I love: scalp micropigmentation. This craft is my passion, whether I’m creating the work myself or teaching it to others.

2025 was truly a powerful year. I invested in several advanced classes, because I’m always striving to learn more and teach even better for my students. I was invited as a speaker at the Meeting of Minds conference in Spain, sharing my research and hands-on experience on SMP Density with amazing colleagues.
I was honored to be selected as one of the Top 10 SMP Artists in North America, and to achieve Top 1 in Dubai in the PMU Beauty Worldwide online competition for SMP Density.
I also joined the international Next Level PMU Conference in Toronto as a Master Talent Show artist, showcasing my technique to professionals who wanted to experience its beauty up close m, along with many other milestones that made this year unforgettable.

This year was full of growth, gratitude, and breakthroughs - and I’m preparing for an even bigger 2026.
Every day, I work harder than the day before to become the best version of myself, because I truly love who I’m becoming and the work I’m blessed to do.
