June 14, 2012. What an amazing day. After 4 years of undergraduate studies and 4 more years of Chiropractic College, I successfully declared my chiropractic oath and crossed the stage during convocation and officially became Doctor!
A lot has happened behind the scenes since that day. Practicing at clinics all over the GTA from Barrie, Toronto, Vaughan, and Brampton and of course Richmond Hill.
I learnt a lot at each of those clinic, good bad, Growth, patience, which all lead me to where I am today.
Grateful for every opportunity and patient I have had the privilege to seeing/ helping, and my team now by my side.
If you told me 10 years ago that I would be opening a clinic of my own in the GTA during a global pandemic, I probably would have laughed it off. Proof you never know where life may take you.
So thank you for 10 years of learning and being a part of the community, here is to continued growth and 10 more! 🙏🏼🎉💕.

It’s another hot one today! Hydration is imperative part of your health and healing.
Here are just some basic reasons to why hydration is important. But let’s not forget proper electrolyte balance for those choosing to exercise outside today. A good trick is to sprinkle a few grains of sea salt, and a squeeze of lemon to your water to help Prevent cramping, adds much needed trace minerals for body function, and most importantly helps your body absorb proper hydration for longer periods of time.

Answer: YES 🙌🏻

Have you ever heard of spinal replacement surgery? Neither have I!
Although this is a bold statement, it is important to remember that our spine houses our spinal cord and central nervous system it really is irreplaceable.
On a snowy day like today it is important to remember how amazing the spine really is, and how much we rely on a healthy spine function.
If you are having to go out a s shovel today, remember these things:
❄️ stretch and warmup before. We have not had snow like this in ages, so prepare your body for the physical activity you’ll be doing.
❄️take breaks if needed. Do what you can at a pace that matches your level of physical fitness.
❄️Push vs twist. As much as you can try to push the snow without excessive jerking and twisting motions. This will help protect your spine and keep you pain free
❄️If you feel a pull or strain, stop and call us to make an appointment! The sooner you come in after injury the faster we can have you back on your feet.

Feeling stressed? 😫 Here are a few simple ways to ensure you keep your self care cup full and avoid burnout while still maintaining a festive mood:
🛌 Proper sleep. Just as a rule of thumb, never compromise your sleep! Ensure you get the recommended duration of sleep (7-8 hours) each night. You will always function better when you are at 100%.
Exercise
🏃🏼‍♀️ Motion is lotion, people! Moving and exercising daily can help ease any stress and anxiety that you may be having by releasing feel good endorphins and therefore elevating mood.
🧘‍♀️ Meditation and mindfulness. A regular meditation routine can help promote a healthy mental state, increase your self awareness, reduce pain and blood pressure, and even improve your sleep. All it takes is a minimum of 5 minutes a day.
🍺 Monitor alcohol intake Believe it or not, alcohol can actually increase cortisol (a stress hormone) levels. For those that do partake in festive libations, be sure to limit your consumption to help manage stress.
🍽Keep control of your diet The temptation and consumption of rich and sugary foods can throw off any healthy habits that you have accumulated. If anything, be sure to keep properly hydrated. Even 1% of dehydration can impact cognitive function.
Also knowing your boundaries! You cannot pour from an empty cup, so don’t forget your self care!

The importance of a mentor! They help guide you when you have questions about complex patient cases, business decisions and even life’s problems. They not only become a confidant but a dear friend.
I am eternally grateful for being paired with when I registered for my College’s mentorship program so many years ago. A program that was suppose to have lasted only 6 months has grown into a strong and amazing lifelong friendship! Her words and guidance have helped me build and grow my practice to what it is today.
Was so blessed she was able to make the visit to see the clinic today and celebrate all we have both achieved!
