We’re looking forward to Halloween in the village! We’ll be giving out candy on Friday from 3-5. Also, free coffee will be available for adults. And while you’re in the area, drop off a non-perishable food item at the Steveston Community Cupboard. Looking forward to seeing all the trick-or-treaters in their costumes!!!

We had a small yoga class today. When asked about any new injuries or concerns one gal mentioned her ongoing wrist pain due to arthritis. We agreed it important to continue to use the joint but to mitigate any pain and discomfort. Arthritis won’t go away, but keeping the affected joint in motion contributes to prolonged use of it.

Let’s talk about osteoarthritis and yoga. I am your instructor, Vicki. At 68 I’ve had a partial knee replacement in both legs and most recently a full left hip replacement. In each instance I continued to teach up until the day prior to surgery.

Returning to practice after a few weeks recovery with physiotherapy was a natural progression following the surgeons clearance .

You too can remain an active yoga practitioner while navigating through osteoarthritis.

Joint issues can be both debilitating and mentally exhausting. With your doctors consent yoga may be a wonderful positive support. For me it was literally a blessing. Join us just 1 hour, 2 mornings a week to find out how.
