At Chimo Community Services, we understand the importance of well-being!

That’s why we’ve designed specialized wellness sessions focused on supporting women and mothers who are refugee claimants.

We know that those first months in a new city, with a different language and a new system to navigate, can be incredibly challenging. Through these sessions, we aim to create a welcoming space where participants can connect, share helpful tips, and access valuable tools. They’ve already taken a significant step by migrating, and we’re here to add just a few more resources along their journey.

Our Outreach and Advocacy (O&A) program is a team of dedicated volunteers and practicum students who assist clients with a variety of poverty or crisis-related needs. Income security in our city with a high cost of living is a especially common issue, with 50% of our clients in the past year receiving help with things like applying for CPP, WCB, applying for welfare, disability, and EI.

Our incredible case managers assist clients who are high at risk for homelessness with accessing rental housing in the private rental market.
